Sigh I miss that man

Well, we still have Brian Sabean, Ed Wade, Omar, Daytoné

Yeah, there were a few people who were absolutely positive he wouldn't sign an extension
I doubt you’ll see them post in here though.

Oh, and hopefully this also slows down people making dumb trade offers because a team "Has to" trade said player
I think I heard that one several times about Felix…and Adrian Gonzalez….and Miguel Cabrera….and Roy Halladay-wait, no, that one was actually right.

Seattle fans are absolutely ecstatic on the Mariner blogs.
They’ve all gone nuts celebrating the Felix extention.
Good for them – Jack Z is clearly one of the GM’s that ‘get it’ and seems to be making a lot of good decisions to help that franchise back to the top of the west.
They are going to have a tough time generating runs with that lineup, but they will also be very difficult to score on.

I don't blame them
Felix is an absolute beast. I’ve followed all of his starts the past two years because he’s been on my various fantasy teams over that time. He was pretty under rated until last year (‘09). He makes other teams look foolish with his dominating K-rate at the age of 23. TWENTY FREAKIN THREE! When this contract runs up, he’ll be 28! If this kid can stay relatively healthy, he’s a sure-fire hall of famer.

The only thing I don't like is how many of them are considering this a "FUCK YOU BOSTON" move.
Which I can’t even begin to understand. I, for one, really like the Mariners and their fanbase.
Oh well, good for them either way. Felix is huge to that fanbase. It’d be like seeing Albert Pujols or Joe Mauer leave.

Most of Lookout Landing hates Red Sox Fans
Mostly because there were several internet posters who were absolutely positive we were going to acquire King Felix this offseason because the Mariners had no hope of competing. I won’t name names, but they were here.
I remember one particularly eventful conversation between a Yankee fan who had “insider information” and a Mariner fan about Felix’s future, all happening here. Wish I could find it.

I remember that. It was kinda hard to take seriously after the opening line:
I wouldn’t know because I’m a Yankees fan
Actually, I’m a fan of their organizational structure as much as their team on the field.
You read that…you know you’re gonna be dealing with an ass.

Who was it that kept claiming the Mariners have “no chance” of extending Felix?
