I guess we can put the idea that the Sox are "giving it away" to bed.
The MFY took 2 of 3 from Orange County. We weren’t going to sweep KC.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Sorry, ‘Tek, but even you can’t think you’re pulling your weight now.
Good, I hope Beckett finds his comfort zone with VMart

What?
I’ll admit he’s been a good pickup just because of what he’s done. We acquired him for the playoff run, we are now firmly in the playoffs, and he played well during the stretch that brought us there. He did what we got him to do.
That being said I don’t think it was predictable that he’d have done any better than Lowrie (though he HAS done better than Lowrie likely would have), and I think giving the latter more PT would have given us a better idea of what we needed to do about that position in the offseason since I don’t think Gonzalez is our guy next year.

Lowrie had a .739 OPS/.326 wOBA as a rookie. That’s better than all but two of Gonzo’s seasons. During his hot streak with Boston this year, Gonzo has a .776 OPS/.337 wOBA. Lowrie had an .820 career OPS in the minors.

Same thing with the nonstory about Burnett and Posada because ESPN and Fox sports need to find something wrong with the Yankees so they can blow it out of proportion.

Yeah.
That guy’s insane. Always fun to use that against my Atheist/pro-science friends. :)

Yep
The planet Tatoine is actually the name of a city here where they started shooting back in the day.

As much as I'd like to assume that wasn't the reason you locked that down...
It’s undeniable.

we don't have elections
when we get them, we can walk around with purple thumbs like the people in Bahgdad
You can never have too much pitching.
a coworker casually told me that a JD means " nothing" and that she could have had my job a coworker received a promotion she did not deserve at the expense of someone who did ( not me) but she now expects me to walk her through how to interpret statutes and perform legal searches…the woman who got promoted also once told me that a law degree means nothing ( heifer!!)…go figure
And she is a Yankee fan! I tested her once and asked who played 3rd before Arod ( she didn’t know, I knew she was a faux fan)

Always a sad moment when I have to explain to people that Wake does not suck...
When all they know about him is 1) old, 2) knuckler, 3) Boone.

I can imagine
my oldest bro, the diehard MFY fan, was at Schilling’s bloody sock game AND at the 22 run Cleveland game. Serves him right for rooting for the MFY.

Seems like that would help the Sox.

Game over
Good night
"All managers are losers, they are the most expendable pieces of furniture on the face of the Earth." -Ted Williams
Good bounceback from crappy play for the past 15 or so innings.
Although Beck’s pitching wasn’t great – really hope that he’s not going to give up on the Vic experiment.
Rules check: If we bring in Tek as a defensive replacement for Vic, moving Vic to 1B, do we have to forfeit the DH?
@bs_uf15bosox9be The Original Gameday; Learn to use SB Nation
Only if the DH is moved into the field.
One really hopes that Tek isn’t the DH.
And Beckett gave up plenty of hits, but 7:1 K:BB

True.
Just a random outlier for Beck then, I guess.

Going for the split tomorrow.
Not bad, considering the Greinke-Byrd matchup and the horrible official decisions in the first game.
