Bad Decision
Ramirez should never have gone out for the 8th. I'd like to see what Delcarmen would have done if he started that inning. Obviously we won't know, but it's a shame to lose a game like that when we've been playing such good baseball. Tito almost blew it last night as well. Wagner needs to be Pappelbon's set up man not Okijima. I hope he realizes that now.
And I hope this isn't the start of a slump for Pedroia. It couldn't come at a worse time.

Fucking clockwork
You’re right for once. But it doesn’t change the fact that it’s like fucking clockwork.
I believe it says in the Bible.
“You sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind of bans.”
These relentlessly negative posts are getting tiresome. 75bandwagon, I invite you to participate in our community in some other way. Follow on the game threads, comment on our articles. But exclusively posting negative pieces like this really doesn’t add anything to OTM.

It's a free country....For now anyway
If you know what I’m going to post before you read it then simply don’t read it. And what I’m saying is probably no different than what some New England sports writers are saying. Para phrasing what someone posted several weeks ago; ‘’Francona is a great players manager and is good with the media, but he has made some late inning moves (pitching changes, not moving over runners in close games) that have cost us games this year’‘. I didn’t see too many replies lambasting that post. I simply give my opinion on some of the problems this team has (and we’ve had several). Do I get passionate and sometimes use this site to vett my displeasure? You bet I do. As my name says I jumped on the band wagon in ‘75 (before there was any such thing as a Red Sox nation) and never got off. I now live in Southern Ca. and have the MLB extra innings package so I can watch every game. I was at Annaheim last year for game 1 of the division series. I sat 8 rows behind the Sox dugout. I made my first trip to Fenway a couple weeks ago for the Yankees series. I bought tickets online three rows bewhind the Sox dugout and watched Penny get rocked. You don’t want to know how much I paid for those tickets. I scalped a ticket in right field for $150 on Sunday (I saw Springsteen in Mansfield on Saturday). The only thing that stops me from being Jimmy Fallon is that I don’t live in Boston and I don’t have season tickets. This team has been one of my passions for over 30 years. So, once again, if you don’t like what I post then simply don’t read it. I hope you’re getting better, Rem Dawg.
You have passion for the Sox, that much is obvious. And you’ve been a Sox fan for longer than most of us have been alive so I wish you could provide a little more insight. Never have I seen you comment on someone else thoughts; or partake in any kind of discussion outside of your short posts that have exclusively criticized Sox strategy after a tough loss. Be critical of the process; or the players; or something meaningful. Simply yelling about the “mistakes” that were made after every hard loss is too easy.

+1
Also, who cares if what 75bandwagon says is “probably no different than what some New England sports writers are saying.” Most of those guys are idiots.
All managers make head-scratching moves. If you think Francona is bad, watch other teams for a while. Maybe then you’ll appreciate Tito. It’s stupid to say the Sox manager is great with the players and media, but doesn’t know how to handle pitchers. Part of handling players is making in-game moves—and if you don’t know what you’re doing during the game, the media will eat you alive.
RamRam v. MDC in that situation … meh. I probably would have rather seen Saito. But 75bandwagon would have liked to have seen what MDC would have done. I saw what he did last night. He gave up a bomb to Longoria and a double to Zaun, a Tek-like hitter. The fact is, Tito had no good options.
My biggest criticism of Tito (and Theo) is their confidence in a scrub like Gonzo. But that didn’t cost them the game. The Sox blew opportunities all night.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Drugs, you should know that you can't expect the same results when changing game events.

definition of insanity...
putting MDC out there over and over again and not expecting a homerun.

I'm insane then.
Oh wait, all things weren’t the same, so I could expect a different result.

Can you provide...
statistical support for your faith in MDC? I am a casual observer compared to you (have the ticket and try to watch most of the games but admittedly do not get deep into statistical analysis). Maybe my opinion of him is incorrect, but to me he does not instill confidence when called in from the pen. If the game is not already out of reach, my first inclination is to turn it off and get some sleep. I am certainly open to change my mind, I just haven’t personally seen anything that makes me feel better about it.

He'd be a better option if used as a LOOGY.
He’s got weird splits that make him better suited for that position than pretty much any other spot.

That may be caused by the split in BABIP though:

Also, I’ve barely scraped the surface of statistical analysis – plus, I don’t get to watch 90% of the games.

"It's a free country...for now anyway" I don't even WANNA know what that means.
Bein’ old doesn’t mean ya have to be crotchety. Do you sit around your house in a white sleeveless shirt and suspenders and point your cane at that damned TEEVEE?
The Sox have been playing good ball lately…nobody’s seen or heard from you. One loss and all of a sudden you’re outta the woodwork with your “BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH BAD!” talk. If you think that’s “passion”, then yer nuts. And your little “Get well, RemDawg” tag at the end of your posts? Seems forced.
You have the right to post your negative posts? Maybe…but keep in mind that we have the right to completely shithammer you for being a dumbass.
Man I love that tuna casserole.
He doesn't actually.
Free Speech doesn’t work that way. He can be censored on here very easily. You have a right to post what you want, just not wherever you want.
75Bandwagon, our problem with you is how you go about things. It’s not that you criticize the team, it’s that you ONLY criticize the team. It’s not that you complain after losses, it’s that you ONLY complain after losses. And perhaps the worst part is that you’re always crying doom and gloom after a loss and never commenting on the fact that we’re on pace for 94, 95 wins.
For a 1st Amendment violation you need state action,
which means the government, any government – local, state or Federal, must somehow be involved directly or indirectly with the curtailing or suppressing of an individual’s 1st Amendment protections.
For example, Good ole Kelly Prejean, Miss California claimed that losing her crown was a violation of her 1st Amendment rights bc she spoke out about gay rights and being a Christian. This is actually the dumbest thing she ever said, since the Miss California pageant is run by a private corporation. Her case is like if you went into work and said “Praise Jesus, I love God,” to everyone in the office. Sure you can say it, but they can fire you for disrupting their work place.
Unless I am mistaken, the government is not fronting OTM cash, so 75 can say what he wants but nobody is harming his rights by removing or stopping his posts.
Sadly, you are correct.
I had all sorts of plans for that $1.1 billion from the Fed (controlling interest in the Red Sox, solid gold Ferrari, special prison and guads to house banned individuals). Unfortunately one of Chairman Bernanke’s interns decided to do a bit of research on our site, and informed him that OTM Investment Group, LLC was in fact a Sox website, rather than a Sox website that originated and serviced mortgages, and that sold commercial paper and credit default swaps. Obviously that nixed the Fed money. On the plus side, we don’t have to adhere to those pesky government mandates.

Rec'd.
"Swing and a ground ball, stabbed by Foulke. He has it. He underhands to first. And the Boston Red Sox are the World Champions! For the first time in 86 years, the Red Sox have won baseball's World Championship!"
In a perfect situation
the 8th would of been Wagner or Okie, but they were both used the night before.
I will say that I think its time to move Saito up and Ramirez down. Saito seems to handle stress and pressure a little better. Maybe thats a knee jerk reaction, but I am wondering if Saito’s experience closing can start to help the Sox out.
Saito
has looked good of late, but he was shaky last night and got lucky with two runners being “thrown” out.
I think Tito has to be careful with RamRam in general against LHB (he is much better against RHB)-even though it was Burrell who get the game winning hit off of him (Pena, a lefty, led off with a smoked double).
I think whe should accept that most of our BP arms (RamRam, Saito, MDC, Bard…) are not the most consistant bets in the world. That is sort of normal for relief pitchers, but it seems that since June that has been the case with our pen more than we would like.
Maybe Tito
should just use RamRam as a righty matchup guy in the playoffs. With Okie and Wagner, I see no reason to bring in a righty to face any LHB in big games.
I agree
if the arms are there, I would be very careful about RamRam against LHB. He is as close to a “ROOGY” as I have seen (sort of like Bradford).
Ill say one more thing about 75's criticism of the game last night
Its incredibly unrealistic to think the Red Sox will go 29 – 0 the rest of the way. Losing on the road happens. Being in the game till the 7th and 8th and given a chance to win is all you can ask for on the road. Even though the Rays are not the 08 Rays, they still are a good team and want to keep in the WC race.
So criticisms of Tito keeping RamRam in, might be a little hard when Tito is still trying to manage a bullpen and not over use guys he needs for the playoffs.
