Buchholz looked very sharp in the first
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.
Fun fact: This crap lineup still makes the Mariners' look laughable.
But wow, that’s a bad lineup for us…
It looks like he's putting it all together
The Sox could have one of the best 1-3 starters in the game next year, with Dice-K at #4.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Well, didn't figure that part of the lineup would score runs anyways.
At least they turned it over and did a little damage to the pitch count.
Actually, on the other angle it was routine
I thought he had to tag the runner.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

I dunno. . .
I’d rather have a fast pitcher on the basepaths than a slow pitcher.
And we do have to play the NL some time.

I was referring to his brief, anything-but-spectacular career as a PR.

I don't think any GM would take Wells's contract
Why give up the farm, for Halladay for a season and a third, and have a so so player with the worst contract in MLB? that last for another five seasons?
No GM is going to do that, except for JP Ricciardi.
I think all these silly rumors are Ricciardi’s last ditch effort to save his job. If anyone who will get their pink slip first when the season ends, it will be Ricciardi. How he handled the Halladay negotiations were truly awful.
Nope. Not at all.
1) JP would NOT have turned that down. Nobody would.
2) Toronto source, who the fuck is Bob Elliot?
3) Theo wouldn’t deal Buck for Santana in a similar situation a few years back, and honestly his opinion of the kid doesn’t seem to have changed much. It’s for Felix or bust.
4) Coming out so late after all the other purported possible deals that it’s really suspicious.

Normally, a no-no is always a good thing.
But for some reason, I suspect Buchholz is better off not thinking about no-nos right now.
Haha, agreed.
Certainly didn’t seem to mind losing it in the 4th. Love that he doesn’t give up many consecutive baserunners anymore. The composure and presence is just so different.

I have a feeling this game will be decided by an extreme.
Either a solo shot
Or a blooper driving in someone who got on via a walk or something.
I don't like that idea.

They fill up the Blazers games with regularity.
Beavers draw about 6,000 per.
And Portland baseball fans tend to be fans of a smattering of different teams, none of them particularly impressive or die-hard in nature, so they could be poached.
Plus, Portland has a pretty favorable reputation as a city, so you shouldn’t have the issues you would with, say, Vegas.

They may draw upon Northern California fans too. I also thought Salt Lake might be able to do it, but I’d be more comfortable if I were Selig in Portland.

yeah but Vmart is making a difference NOW
not everything is about ‘someday’. The Sox have plenty of ‘someday’ players still.

Hagadone is a 23-year-old who's still pitching in A ball.
And is coming off of Tommy John surgery. Very big “IF” there.
Well, I am being a little bit facetious.
I have no real worry that this trade will end up being close to even for the Sox.

Ramirez wasn't really here
He wanted out. Would have gotten ‘injured’.

In terms of overall value, yeah
This is going to be very hard to top—-particularly as a mid-season trade.
save it for the second game
it’ll come up again

You have to see this
Go to MLB Gameday and watch the highlights of how Baltimore scored their third run. Damon allowed a runner to tag from second and score on a routine fly to LF.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.
NO!
He has gone undercover, is working from within.

I love how the Tabata/Ohlendorf vs. Marte/Nady trade has worked out for them.
Horrible…..!

Damon showed he's just as dumb as advertised.
Forgot there were only two outs and almost threw the ball into the stands.

You know what
Nick Green makes that play. Seriously.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.
All the more reason for him to play

On the other hand
After fielding Green twice from the mound, Kotchman might have shied away from catching another bullet from Green.
you really think so?
I think Green throws that ball away

I see, so Green gets to it but does he COMPLETE the play?
