Red Sox, Rays game postponed due to rain
Awesome. Thanks rain:
The Red Sox and Rays will proceed no further and will be made up Sunday at noon, and the 1:35 game already scheduled for that day will be played at 5 p.m. When this game resumes, the Rays will have the bases loaded with one out in the first inning.
Starter Jon Lester was victimized for the second time this season. He pitched five innings in June against the Florida Marlins before that game was postponed because of rain.

Well
I don’t like how this game started.
"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."
( Joe Girardi on pitching to Manny Ramirez with first base open)
at least it's not an official game, so we can forget it ever happened
But does anyone know why it’s being made up Sunday and not Saturday? (Actually, I’m pretty sure it’s because an afternoon game on Saturday would be blacked out. In fact, I’m confident that this is the reason. Consider this an update to the post)

Fortunately not.
From Extra Bases:
And to clear up the early confusion: When tonight’s game is made up Sunday, it will begin with as a brand new game — the one and three base runners will vanish into the ether. Sorry for the contrasting reports earlier.

I thought so.
I came here to celebrate with y’all about the erased baserunners, and this post hit me like a brick wall. But then I was re-relieved. =D

Good news, thanks
I sure didn’t want to see that make-up game starting out with the bases full. The other good news is, it looks as if the Yankees are on their way to a rain-soaked pasting tonight.
So, I guess they’ll just have Lester start Sunday’s game, then?

From the apparent lack of stuff last night by Lester,
one could conclude the God was a Red Sox fan and pulled the plug in a timely manner! It may be good to have such an allie.

BTW, last night's line-up
was the one that will have the best chance of getting us in and maybe through the playoffs. With just a modicum of decent starting pitching and then some even half-decent relief, that line-up can win.
