John Henry, Sox won't comment on David Ortiz -- not yet, at least

Red Sox owner John Henry said today that the Red Sox will not make an announcement regarding David Ortiz and his positive steroid test until after all the facts come out:

"I'm going to let David speak first," Henry told reporters after taking part in a ReadBoston story event at Boston Common. "As soon as he speaks, then we'll have something to say."

Henry was also critical of the Globe's coverage of Ortiz.

"I think some of the Globe's remarks are a little, um, early," Henry said. "Let's see what David has to say."

This is a good move by Henry, because it can only cause problems if he speaks too soon. I think the Red Sox are approaching this situation in one of the best ways possible. The organization is top-notch and I'm glad to see the front office is being conservative.

Anyone else see the interview on ESPNDeportes? Kinda sad how he seemed desperate to get through it.

Man, do I hope Papi goes on an absolute tear this weekend to silence the jeers that will be coming from the MFY.

Papi could go 4-4 with 4 HR and the jeers would still be pouring down hard

because even if he does go on a tear it will be “because of the juice”

Old Fan, two things.

First, please use the reply button. Sometimes it’s hard to tell who someone’s replying to unless it’s nested underneath the original comment.

Second, you realize that Papi’s been MUCH better of late, right?

WOW 0-5

Last night 0-5 and what was it … 9 lob? so now that’s 5 for 28 and 27 lob in 6 games. He really rose to the occasion last evening, looking like the early season was no fluke.

Um,

Once again you are misinformed. Not all agree with me but I truly do not care if they take anything. It actually would amuse me to have since Rickey Henderson smoking crack in the dugout. Why hide it?

Ian Browne aspires to be like me.
