Don't be too surprised, but David Ortiz has been one of the best sluggers in baseball since June 1.

Poll

If we were to have done a poll on June 1st of over or under 20 HR by the end of the year, I am sure everyone would have said under.

If he keeps up his pace from June 1st he will have 39 HRs at the end of the year. Think about that for a minute with the awful start he had.

actually

we DID have that poll after he hit his first HR! I think most people guessed 25 HR-but can’t remember…

I don't remember

even though I probably voted too. Oh well, my bad.

30-35 not impossible

After the beginning of the year I thought that if Papi got his groove back he’d hit 28-32 no problem. He’s been doing 7 per month since June, so I’d say 30 is a safe bet.

such a shame he had the slow start

And yet...

…people are still calling for him to ride the pine.

Man I love that tuna casserole.

well yes, but thats understandable to an extent

he looked awful in stretches this season. Francona did stick with him @ #3 too long. If he has a consistant season from the start till now, I do not think we are down by so much in the division. He has turned it around nicely, but he is not off the hook.

Yeah…he was hard to watch at the beginning of the season. But there are those who are using that to determine his worth in the games he’s playing now…which is an error.

Man I love that tuna casserole.
