Hmmmm. I would say that tonight may be the most critical game of the year for the Sox as far as having/gathering/generating needed momentum at a critical time. If the Sox can win tonight, it may indeed trigger the beginning of a new revival, a new pheonix. If they lose, they will let a big opportunity pass, but maybe justifiably so..
How about Smoltz pulling a Lugo with the Cards?

To win tonight’s game, it might have been better to yank Beckett (though I think yanking him in a 2-run game was unwarranted). To finish this season well, Beckett absolutely must pitch well. Looking on the bright side, if they Yankee's win this game they will going into the Texas series with momentum to sweep tham. Allowing us to take a more of a lead in the wild card.
