Brian Anderson recalled, Josh Reddick optioned to Pawtucket
According to Amalie Benjamin's Twitter, Josh Reddick is on the way back down, and Brian Anderson is coming up.
Anderson has been successful in a short time with the PawSox since coming over from the White Sox in exchange for Mark Kotsay, recording an OPS of .835 in just under 100 at bats. Success in the minors has never translated to success in the majors for Anderson, however, and the fact that most of his OPS comes from slugging is troubling. A 16:2 K:BB ratio is not appealing, nor is a .298 OBP.
Reddick had mixed results in his first major league stint, getting off to a hot start but going cold of late. Given his promotion straight from his first full year in AA, it was hard to really expect anything more.
Anderson will get the start in right field tonight against the Texas Rangers.

re:
At least Anderson will give the Sox some really good outfield defense. He’ll probably hit similar to Reddick, too. Reddick certainly needs a lot more seasoning…

Reddick's what, 21?
That’s awfully young to be making an MLB debut these days. . . .

Yep
Giving Reddick more time to develop in the minors is a good idea.
