"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."
( Joe Girardi on pitching to Manny Ramirez with first base open)
When is he getting a new number?
I’m going to suggest 14.

At least we're leaving men on.
It’s a step up from not getting any on at all.
Well, I'll appreciate for you to keep my zingers outta your mouth!
when has he ever had it
please direct me to those appearances. They WANT him to be better than he is, it is like stage mom syndrome or something.
"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."
( Joe Girardi on pitching to Manny Ramirez with first base open)
Of course he does.
He’s just better than the ERA depicts him as being.

Sorry but am not bowled over by MDC
local boy or not. “good stuff” or not – too many episodes like tonight’s. I wish they would unload him

Not saying I don't agree.
Just saying, he’s not HORRIBLE.

yeah but is "not horrible" a reason to keep hanging on

Nope.
If we could have gotten something for him, I would’ve pulled the trigger.

He doesn't like hurting feelings.
He would gladly give a game up, to not hurt an ego.
Haha

btw, as a DC-area Sox fan
I say with some confidence that in NO WAY should the Sox pick up Christian Guzman. The guy never walks. He’’s been a big disappointment to Nationals fans.
His Baseball Reference page features the comment “Walks are for sissies”.
I dunno
despite the lack of walks, not being too good a runner, and durability concerns, Guzy’s still a good hitter. He probably wouldn’t be a very good fit on the Sox, but he’s one of my favorite Nats.

by Ben Buchanan on Aug 10, 2009 10:29 PM EDT up reply actions
Let me put it this way.
Music does not get the credit the classics we listen to now gained without withstanding the test of time.
But much of the definitive music of this generation is not old enough to have withstood said test.
Beyond which, there’s such a massive volume of stuff coming out now—more than before—because of all the new ways for Media to get out regardless of quality that there’s a lot more published garbage. The percentage of good stuff is lower, but I question if there’s really less quality.
by Ben Buchanan on Aug 10, 2009 10:31 PM EDT up reply actions
and I hate to say it again but
much of what you hear today is derived from classics. The level of talent is different now, it is more about a look nowadays. If looks were the bigger focus as it seems to be today, Patsy Cline, Aretha, etc wouldn’t have made it.

Although I did see a hair care bottle advertise its leading ingredient as “purified aqua” recently. I had a good chuckle about that.
Isn't it just referred to as water?
I mean, EVERYONE knows what the formula is.
@bs_uf15bosox9be The Original Gameday; Learn to use SB Nation
You'd think that.
But, sadly, I suspect that a very large percentage of people would have a hard time telling you what the formula actually means.
Very true.
By everyone, I meant the people who need to know the formula for practical reasons – it’s shorter to just say water, or H2O even, than whatever combination of suffixes and prefixes the nearest chemistry textbook dictates is correct.
