Mariners vs Red Sox recap

Let me check that box score again ... the Red Sox beat the Mariners? Really?

Woo-hoo!

I'll take it. The Sox, behind a good start from Jon Lester, beat the M's, 8-4, today. The Sox scored five runs in the seventh to take the lead after trailing 4-3. Justin Masterson earned the win after striking out three in 1.1 scoreless innings of work.

The big seventh inning was started thanks to an RBI by David Ortiz, who also homered in the first inning (with Dustin Pedroia). Jacoby Ellsbury walked with the bases loaded and Mark Kotsay hit a two-RBI single. Ellsbury capped the inning by scoring on a passed ball.

Ellsbury also homered (solo shot) in the fifth.

Hideki Okajima pitched a spotless ninth inning.

The Sox host the A's -- and NOMAAAAHHHH -- Monday at 7:10. John Smoltz is on the hill.

Oh and hooray for Papi!

I didn't like the old one very much. I didn't see the ball there very well. - Julio Lugo on the old Yankees Stadium.

I was about to say that too.

Very cool photo.
But why do the M’s seem to have our number? I think this series (and the series before, for that matter) is just our crappy bullpen. But it looks like Masterson is coming around again. We just gotta hope the others (especially RamRam) follow suit.

Well, I'll appreciate for you to keep my zingers outta your mouth!

I can't believe we beat the Mariners!

After years of drugs and hype and the M’s dragging us up and down our crappy park, they finally lost! BOO YAH! Take it M’s! You were crushed under the mighty wheels of some hacks coughing and stumbling due to withdrawals that were finally able to trip and take some time out of puking and shaking to play some ball! Take it you NW Biotches!
