ARLINGTON, Texas (AP)—All-Star knuckleballer Tim Wakefield(notes) is headed to the disabled list because of a lower back problem.
The Boston Red Sox recalled right-hander Clay Buchholz(notes) from Triple-A Pawtucket to start in Wakefield’s place Wednesday night in the finale of a three-game series in Texas.
Manager Terry Francona said Wakefield, who turns 43 next week, got hurt throwing on the side Saturday.
Wakefield said he wasn’t exactly sure when he got hurt or when he will try to throw again, though he didn’t sound overly concerned.
"It’s a minor setback, that’s all," Wakefield said.

Laroche.
Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.
sportscenter is reporting it
Any word on what was traded? I can’t imagine it was anything major for a laroche

Diaz (AA shortstop) and another minor league. Can’t find who exactly it was, but it was a High-A pitcher. Basically a salary dump for the pirates. LaRoche is making $7 Mil this year.

Hmm... hope Buch pitches well.
And hope Wake can recover quickly.
