GameThread: Boston Red Sox @ Atlanta Braves, June 27, 2009
Boston Red Sox at Atlanta Braves, Jun 27, 2009 4:10 PM EDT
Sox v. Braves at 4:10 on a Saturday. What could be better? Well, maybe a lineup with Jason Bay and Nick Green... Fun fact: the Sox clubhouse has taken to calling our non-hated shortstop "Greenie." No word yet on whether they think he's dope...
Red Sox
1. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
2. J.D. Drew, RF
3. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
4. David Ortiz, 1B
5. Mark Kotsay, LF
6. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
7. Julio Lugo, SS
8. George Kottaras, C
9. Tim Wakefield, RHP
No word yet on Atlanta's lineup. Hopefully it's just the pitcher batting 9 times.

Probably rest ..
And the fact that he is 2 for 12 against Vazquez.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Yea, just an off day.

Anyone interested in Milton Bradley becoming a Red Sox?!?!?
Piniella and Bradley appear they are escalating their feud…
Lugo for Bradley trade?!?!
I think the two worst places for Bradley to go to other than the North Side of Chicago, New York or Boston. I don’t understand why he didn’t stay in Texas, he seemed to finally had some peace and happiness..

No
And it’ll never happen. Bradley isn’t a Theo-type player.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

I know it isn't going to happened...
However, Soriano has spoken out against Bradley, and MB is doing what he has done with the many clubs he had played in the past. I wouldn’t be surprise he is traded in a fire sale, no matter how onerous his contract.

Hell no
I thought we wew finished with the drama when Manny left! No more of that crap!

But it would be like Manny..
Carl Everett and Shea Hillenbrand all wrapped into one!
I would be the last person who would want MB on the Red Sox, given I followed his career since he was on the Indians, but when he calms down, he is a pretty good hitter.
In reality he needs to go to a smaller market club. He shouldn’t have left the Rangers.

He would be worse than Manny
Manny really wasn’t a problem until 2008. And, Manny is a much better player.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

I was referring to manny antics, not his play
And Manny was a head case since day one. Remember, we put him on waivers once!

Especially when he is supplying some offense for a rally..
I always feel Wake’s best value is that he can go deep into the game and not overtaxed the bullpen.

And an OPS of 2.000.
Yeah, yeah, SSS, but who cares?

For a fast runner, Ells hits into a lot of DPs
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

I was reading a THT article about how the fastest guys tend to hit into the most DP's.
Its weird. The guys with the lowest DP rates were all slow-ass catchers. Mostly because fast guys tend to be groundball hitters.

Lowell and Dusty have hit into tons of DPs
Lowell has 15. Dusty has 11. Green, Youk, and Ells have hit into 6.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Vasquez
is annoying. Too bad Lugo just missed-that was our best shot so far…

He's a good pitcher
The MFY should have kept him (panic trade). He has very good stuff.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Wasn't he part of the 2005 Johnson trade with the MFY
I always get that trade confused with the Loiza/Contreas trade.

Tito should've kept Wake for another inning
He was dealing and we have Penny tomorrow (a 6 inning outing machine)

It's very hot there (almost 100 F)
He’s 42-years old, and it’s a 1-run game. Tito made the right move.

and gentle southern humidity
Let him lose five more pounds of sweat for one more inning…. so he has better IP stats…

Just broke up A.J. Burnett’s no-hitter in the sixth inning.
That’ll do, Cora. That’ll do…
