First off, Kason Gabbard is replacing Felix Doubront on the Portland Roster as the latter heads to the DL.
Now for the signings:
Michael Thomas: 12th round pick, 20-years-old, college junior, catcher. Defensive-minded with a cannon arm.
Willie Holmes: 14th round pick, 21-years-old out of junior college. A power hitting outfielder without too much athleticism. Likely a LF/RF/DH guy who might get some work at 1st.
Tom Ebert: 19th round RHP out of FIU. Not fantastic numbers, but doesn't walk guys hardly at all.
Christopher Court: 23rd round RHP, college junior. Posted unspectacular numbers in a not-particularly strong conference before impressing in an independent. league.
Jeremiah Bayer: 23-year-old RHP out of U Vermont/Trinity drafted in the 30th round. D3baseball.com Pitcher of the Year who put up fantastic numbers against weak competition.
