Lowrie?

When he's off the DL, will the starting job be Jed Lowrie's? I thought I heard last week on NESN that was the speculation, but can't find that anywhere in writing. Makes sense to me given I don't think much of Lugo or Green, but just wondering what the plan was with him once he's activated- or will Tito just play it by ear?

They might give him a week of off-and-on starts just to get back into things.

But he’s 100% the starter. Green is even the backup, I’d say. I expect Lugo is on his way out even if the organization has to eat his salary.

If Green still has options

I suspect Green goes back down to Pawtucket until they figure out if Lowrie is still in good shape. If so, then Lugo’s days in Boston are rapidly dwindling.

However, I expect that there might be more of a platoon split for both guys, or possibly using Green or Lowrie to spell Lowell occasionally, particularly when defense is at a premium.

Wilson

I’ve heard rumors that the Sox are really looking into getting Jack Wilson from the Pirates. But with Lowrie coming back soon, Green playing well, and Lugo’s hot bat, I’m not sure if thats a good idea right now..
