New Sox Lineup?
Considering the production, or lack thereof, of the current Sox lineup, I am proposing a new lineup that takes advantages of our strengths and limits our weaknesses.
1. Ellsbury
2. Pedroia
3. Bay
4. Youklis
5. Ortiz
6. Lowell
7. Drew
8. Varitek
9. Green
This new lineup moves up the hot-hitting Bay and Lowell and takes advantage of Bay's ability to get on base through hits and especially walks while also keeping the lefties separated in the lineup.

Not quite right
Better:
Drew
Pedroia
Youk
Bay
Lowell
Ortiz
Tek
Ellsbury
Green
My take
Pedroia – Takes advantage of high OBP without wasting any HR power of Drew’s by batting leadoff
Drew – Same OBP-centric position, more power. I expect the average will go up too.
Bay – Arguably our best fastball hitter. Would benefit more from Youk’s protection than vice versa.
Youk – ’Nuff said
Lowell – Ditto
Ortiz – Moved down unless he can return to form.
Varitek
Green
Ellsbury – The 1-2 punch DID work well when Ells got on base.
I like this one.
Though it puts 3 righties in a row and I’m not sure Tito would do that. Your is what I would like, but my guess is that Tito, if anything, does yours but switches Papi and Lowell.
See, that's entirely the wrong way to think of things.
No way should .250 worth of OPS be sacrificed for a RLR matchup.

Drew's power
I think Drew would be just as good at lead-off. Really, the lead-off hitter gets to lead off an innings twice at most in a ballgame, and then there is his OBP.
Well, I'll appreciate for you to keep my zingers outta your mouth!
I'll take a shot
Drew, DP, Youk, Bay, Ortiz, Lowell, Tek, Green, Ellsbury
Drew has historically been a great OBP. DP not as much. That was my logic of Drew ahead of DP.
I kept Ortiz ahead of Lowell because even though Lowell has alot of RBIs him and Ortiz still have practically the same OBP. And this will atleast give Ortiz some better pitches with Lowell as protection.
