Game one against the Twins was just a tad bit scary with Jonathan Papelbon and Joe Mauer antics in the 9th. Let's hope game No. 2 goes a little bit smoother for the Red Sox.

In May (not counting tonight's game)
Ellsbury is hitting .313 AVG in 96 AB. But his OBP is only .347! That covers most of his current hitting streak (May 1st was the only day this month that Ells hasn’t had a hit).

My World History teacher wanted me to take that next year – can’t stand his teaching style though, so I refused. He’s the only APEH teacher at my school – and he skips over important stuff about Hitler b/c he’s Jewish. He spent a whole week on the Holocaust, and one day on all of WW2.

Maybe another AP elective would fit you better anyways. AP U.S. Gov.? I’ve heard its an interesting class. Macro/Micro Econ?

Senior Year:
AP Micro, AP Macro, AP US Gov, AP Comp Gov, AP Lit, AP Calc BC, Senior Survival (Art credit – ugh), and Student Gov or AP Stat if I can’t get elected.

I feel sorry for your classmates though. Years ago, I got 5s on the Euro and US History, Government, and English Literature exams. I know one girl from my high school who took about 12 AP Exams (mostly without taking the classes), probably aced all of them.

But the teacher never actually taught – always talked about conspiracy theories.

When I went to college, I got to skip over 18 credits worth of classes. If I hadn’t written an honors thesis, I probably would have graduated a semester early. I was lucky because my school (UMass) gave me 6 credits each for the US and Euro History AP classes.

I went to a very competitive high school, and many of my classmates went to highly selective schools (i.e. Harvard, Yale, Columbia). I didn’t have the grades or the cash for ‘elite’ private schools, but I really enjoyed UMass. It’s in a beautiful area and has a vibrant campus life (leftist protests, all sorts of lectures and extracurricular opportunities).
Good luck with the college application process, especially if you aim for medical school.

This game reminds me of the Lester loss in Seattle.
Lester seems to get in big trouble after about 70 pitches. I do not know why for certain, but his effectiveness seems to go way down when he reaches that number of pitches. Something to watch out for, but what does it mean for the future? Maybe his stamina is not that good now, so do what? Put him in the pen for medium relief?
