We're almost done with the lineup! Today's community projection will be Jacoby Ellsbury, the Red Sox's leadoff hitter. Copy and paste the form below and let us know if Jacoby will, once again, lead the American League in stolen bases:

Oh, and for the record: we are no longer nicknaming him "Tacoby Bellsbury." New nicknames will be accepted until May.

I am not sold on Ellsbury being the true lead off bat. He will still provide amazing defense in CF, but I think his on base % will eventually force him to be moved down in the lineup this year.

Steals are not stupid here bc:

they could have a significant impact on the Sox season. I think we should be predicting SB totals and success rate, not just SB totals (that is if we are actually trying to predict the effect these guys will have on the Sox win% and not just their fantasy stats). Jacoby helped the team around .5 wins last year just with his stolen bases. With a few more successful swipes he could increase that. This result is certainly important to our final win total.

No way he gets a Gold Glove

he is a below average fielder especially given his speed.

He jumps to much.

Plus, Hunter got one last year, so it’s not impossible.

I think he’s pretty damn good in the field.
