Since lowrie is sidelined….we dont have anyone better than lugo right now. HIs defense will even out and be decent. His hitting will be mediocre. If we had another HanRam waiting in the wings id be calling for lugos departure, but we dont. And by golly we have a pretty awesome team anyway.
It is called player development/procurement, so
develop or procure another, better one. If you convince yourself to live with mediocrity, that’s what you will become.

Easier said than done
And the Sox already have a better playe—Jed Lowrie.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Look, stop talking in circles.
As a loyal Sox fan who wants a championship this year, I don’t want Lugo as a regular starter because I am convinced from watching him that he cannot deliver a championship product, at least not anymore and probably not ever. If you agree, then fine, end of discussion! Make him a Back-up and let’s not talk about him anymore as a regular starter.
I am just afraid that Sox management has a masochistic guilt feeling about spending the big bucks on Lugo so they feel they have to start him. His play is awful for the most part and he poisons the team with his momentum draining performances or lack thereof.

BTW, anyone happen to notice the one game we lost in the last 13!
LUGO was in it poisoning the momentum and team spirit. He can not even catch a simple perfect throw into the center of his mitt when a DP was sorely needed. Such mistakes (which he makes often) do have consequences. Rallies like last night can have initiations and can often succeed, but not too often with a poisoner like Lugo in the mix! That’s the point, IMHO!

This last point is beyond silly
How was Lugo "poisoning the momentum and team spirit. " Sure, his error hurt. But the Sox had a lead late in the game (on a Lugo RBI, no less) and the pen couldn’t hold the lead. NG, there is no evidence that Lugo is unpopular with his teammates.
BTW, did you notice that the Sox scored the winning run last night after Lugo entered the game?

Are You Kidding
Uhm…Green is way better than Lugo any day. Green can field and hit. Lugo hits once in a while and his fielding is garbage!

Are you?
All you have to do is look at Green’s career stats to see that he is playing way over his head.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Interestingly
fangraphs has Green as a good fielding SS and a horible fielding 3b. Funny. All small samples (eg only 39 career games as SS).
And...
Has anyone realized that the Sox record after 21 games (is) was 14-7 this year, 2008 and 2007! Bizarre coincidence, or Lugo related conspiracy? In 2006, the last Lugo-less year, it was….13-8!
I be;eive this has been a Lugo-less year as a starter
except for one game. The Sox have lost 100% of games that Lugo started in. That makes perfect sense to keep him out.

ignoring NGs
comment for a second, isn’t it amazing how these records have panned out after 21 games the last 4 years?
Julio Lugo's a stiff
Yes, he’s our sunk-cost stiff and yes, there is not much in the way of acceptable alternatives, but the Sox win despite him, not because of him.
Rock me, sexy Jesus...

True, in a way.
He is the worst player on the team, yes. But could they do worse? Yes. He is better than other SS’s in the league and was worth right around 1 win above replacement each of the last two years.
