What's happened to our pitching over the offseason?
It’s not that it’s terrible…
But we’ve gone from the potential for 3 ace-like guys (Beckett, Daisuke, Lester) to 2 guys who can even be consistent (Wakefield, Masterson).
I mean, I understand that Daisuke was due for some regression given HOW he put up his numbers last year, but what’s the deal with Beckett and Lester?
It’s just frustrating going into games having no idea what to expect. I’m only REALLY comfortable with Masterson.

He didn't average 6 innings a start
He was extremely lucky last year. He was OK (nothing special) in 2007. In my opinion, Dice-K is a decent #3 starter.

Never heard of IB. AP won’t be horrible, just a lot compared to this school year. I was stupid and chose easy classes when the selection sheets were going around last year.

Just to be like Chuck D from Public Enemy. I don’t think I have met a true Pirates fan. That team is destined for greatness in the coming years.
I have a friend that's from the 'Burgh and he only wears his Pirates cap when it matches.
He usually wears one of his 10 MFY caps. And he wore his only Stillers shirt the day after the SuperBowl.
Also, my mom’s family is from Pittsburgh, so I’ve had the privilege.

There is no question though that I love the Sox. I’m only 19, but since I was old enough to actually start watching the games and caring (Probably around 1999), they just had this aura and mystique always surrounding them. I love them, but as I said, I love baseball in general aswell.

I’m almost 16, and I started watching in 97… It took you till the age of 9 to get baseball? Not saying that I was calculating ERA at 4, but I could follow a game.

Before that, baseball was a “Ill watch the highlights on sportscenter” type of thing.

My little sister played on a softball team that went undefeated for two straight years playing only baseball teams.
Except for her final game when the shortstop had to miss the game – they lost 20 something to 0. That girl would chase runners all around the basepaths to get them out, barely ever threw.
My bro gets on those teams
because he always goes number one or two overall in the draft and all the shitty-new coach grab him. He’s had one winning season over the past 4 years.
