GameThread: Twins @ Red Sox, day of doubleheader
Minnesota Twins at Boston Red Sox, Apr 22, 2009 12:35 PM EDT
Too much rain last night forced the Twins into Boston for playing baseball in just a day. At 12:35 starts a long day of baseball for both teams, a day/night doubleheader.

Is anyone watching the game...
… as opposed to Gameday? The strike zone looks very short vertically. Is that an accurate depiction?
I mean, good for us at the moment, but still…

Walking Kottaras?
Didn’t Baker have like a great control and shit?
"Hey we got a lot in common here... I'm gonna rape you"
Green made up for the E with a HR
Id say the offense is on fire if Nick Green is hittin homeruns over the Green monster.
Someone think of a witty pun for this!

Sox off to a great start today!
I hope they give Tito a ‘W’ as a birthday present
"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."
( Joe Girardi on pitching to Manny Ramirez with first base open)
I wouldn't doubt it
He is gettin them today! Already 3.
Am I the only one who absolutely despises Hideki Matsui? I hate him with a passion, and its not just because he is a Yankee
I can't see it but it makes me happy
greedy ba$tards.
They cant blame this on the weather or a weekday – lotta empty seats since the place opened. That being said, I am going in June to check out the place.
"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."
( Joe Girardi on pitching to Manny Ramirez with first base open)
You should get one of those 2500 dollar seats
I heard that if you buy one, Hank will personally come out and thank you for wasting so much money to watch the Yankees get blown out by a double digit margin.
I wonder what the people felt like on Saturday, after they paid 2500 for a seat to watch the Yanks get rocked in only the second inning. Must have been the worst feeling ever.
Castiglione & Co are discussing the "thousands" of empty seats at Yankee Stadium
"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."

I love Papi
“Tito is 50? I thought he was atleast 70 with all the complaining he does”
Hahaha. Even though he is slumping a bit, you could never hate his personality.
looks like a missed a good amount
looking pretty though
Homer: Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.
am listening at work
two errors for Green? Is he pretending to be Lugo?
Lugo is rehabbing today – first game back – 3strikeouts…
"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."
( Joe Girardi on pitching to Manny Ramirez with first base open)
Me too.
But I’m on lunch break, so it’s hopefully less obnoxious.
Green’s definitely not pretending to be Lugo. He homered!

Green's on pace for 16 HR
and 64 Errors.

You're funny.
They’re an upgrade in that unlike Lugo’s 20, they won’t suck any momentum.

Well aslong as they cause some form of improvement
I am all for it!
His errors today weren’t game changers though. One was just wide of Youks glove with 2 outs in the 2nd, and the other was just him losing his concentration. Trying to make a DP after the ball deflected off Wakes glove. Nothing horrible, just lack of concentration.
Way to work out of the bases loaded Wake
Who needs a bullpen? Save it for when Penny implodes later.

homeruns continue to fly for the yankees, allready a total of 3 hit by both teams through 2 innings.
On gameday
They’re saying that Bay hates to face the curveball. IMO He hates to face the Slider!

I remember in last year playoffs, Maddon
Kept facing him with Wheeler, just cause he throws sliders

Good job out of wake
He’s at 85 pitches. Don’t think he has enough to go for the CG but then again, the Knuckler doesn’t require much. Anyone think he will go all the way two times in a row?
Loaded for Bayson
I’m in the mood for extremely stupid nicknames. :)
"Hey we got a lot in common here... I'm gonna rape you"
I want some puns
Jason “I am gonna smash this ball all the way down to the” Bay is gonna smash this ball all the way down to the Bay.
Dickey in with the bases jacked
My, I do love the way this is shaping up.

Eating Pizza and hopin' that they keep some runs for tonight
The only Red Sox fan in a country where nobody cares about basball!
Hopefully they just call the game
10-1 with two in scoring position in the bottom of the 7th. I don’t want to see them try to start this game again in an hour or two then have to go to the Pen because of the delay. Lets just call it a game. Please?
yeah they probably will call it. Thats one way to rest the bullpen. And im doubting theyr going to get a game in tonight, which i think was the real purpose of the double header, to get at least one in.
Yeah I dont think so either
Forecast shows rain going into tomorrow morning, with the only chance of a break coming between 5-6 o clock. 1 game in, hopefully it’s called. Now lets go have a day off so we can smash the Yankees.
Whats up with the expensive seats at Yankees stadium
there were like 5 people sitting there in the beginning, and now there are like 10!
How dare they steal the 2500 dollar seats.
hi everyone
stupid classes making me miss the sox.

Holiday with an RBI single, CC outing was great: 6 hits, 4 bb and a staggering 2 k in a 6 2/3 IP.
Keep it up CC: we love you when you pitch like that

Rain again?
Any word on the ground what’s going on? I’ve not plugged in yet to WRKO, but will do so shortly.
Stupid rain.
