Here's a link to the game because I didn't get a chance to see the entire thing, but I'll touch on a few things I did see. And, by the way, the Red Sox lost again to the Angels, 5-4.

From what I saw, Josh Beckett wasn't that bad. But he did get the loss after six innings of work and allowing eight hits, four runs, two walks and striking out five.

The offense was sort of there: Kevin Youkilis, David Ortiz and Nick Green each had two hits. Youkilis and J.D. Drew hit back to back home runs in the second inning.

Oh, and there was almost a full-blown tussle. Kind of fun to watch.

Am I missing something? Of course. Drop it in the comments.

Things you missed

Mike Lowell sucked with a capital dashed-into-a-phone-booth-to-drape-it-across-his-chest-S.
Tip to Mike: when the relief pitcher walks three straight batters and the game is on the line, take the first strike – don’t . Also, stop grounding into double plays. Otherwise we’re going to have to start calling you a momentum sucker. You wouldn’t like that, would you?

Drew looked absolutely anemic against Fuentes (watched three pitches sail by for strikes), but at least he homered earlier.

Oh, and the Sox got OWNED by a TERRIBLE PITCHER. Dustin Moseley is AAA / middle relief dreck. We should have clobbered him. Don’t believe me? Check his stats.

2nd Sentence should read

“don’t swing at a 2-0 pitch that’s in on your hand and pop up weakly to the third baseman.”

Wasn't wild about Tek swinging at the first pitch either

Though “at least” that was his only poor PA on the day. Solid at the plate the rest of the time.

Where has the MVP been?

.167 BA. The only upside to that is of the 3 hits he has, they have all been XBHs (2 doubles and a HR). Just hurts to see him ground into those double plays today AND see his BA that low.

Youk is lookin beastly though. If he wasn’t late on that shields fastball, it woulda been mashed over left field wall.

A bunch of the hits against Beckett were pretty weak.

Especially the two runs he gave up in the third were all little bouncers through the infield.

That 8th inning killed me

Mikey up with the bases loaded. Pop out. Corpse up. I don’t even have to finish that, do I?

Mikey swinging at a 2-0 pitch

From a pitcher who couldn’t find the strike zone. That killed me. Once the Carcass was up, I wasn’t expecting anything.

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.
