Fenway Park Question

Hello, I was planning on making a trip up to Boston this summer to see the Red Sox take on the Atlanta Braves and I had a couple questions based on Fenway. Ticket prices are through the roof on stubhub and I was planning on getting bleacher seats. My questions are:

1) Are you allowed to enter the rest of the park to just visit it if you have bleacher seats or is there a seperate bleacher only entrance?

2) are bleachers seats bad? I guess its better than a pole being stuck in your view

3) Are the bleachers rowdy?

Thank you ever so much!

So...

1. you cannot enter the rest of the park from the bleachers. separate section.

2/ Bleachers are just as you’d expect. Fun, but not the closest view.

3. They can for sure be rowdy.

I haven't been in the bleachers for probably 8 years.

Has it changed? I know that back then you had to enter the bleachers through a specific entrance and then you were fenced off the rest of the park.

1. My recommendation is the RF Grandstands. Only a few dollars more, and they’re with the rest of the park. As long as you’re not behind a pole (the ticket office will warn you of obstructed view), it’s a pretty nice view.
2. The seats are the same type as any other seat in the park. (not like Yankee Stadium with benches). And you can access the rest of the park.
3. IDK, never sat in the bleachers during a game. During BP, they’re fine.

The Red Sox will come out with more tickets from their website as the time gets sooner (maybe by like the end of May). Just keep calling 1877-RED-SOX9 to get information so you don’t spend your life savings on Stubhub. The other thing is if the game is rained out, if you buy from the club, you’re ok.

Think it was a good business decision? Well let me tell you: my kid will be looking at schools in Boston soon and we were planning on visiting “Cheers”.

I dunno, no one who lives in Boston has ever been to Cheers.

Like me.

Never been to Cheers.

Do you live in Boston?

I do and have also never been to Cheers, aka. the Bull and Finch. I’ve heard the tavern is mostly a tourist trap.

I actually went "a" Cheers once in some airport.

They had a mechanical Norm and George. It was pretty weird/surreal.

Disagree with previous posts

I’ve been to a lot of Red Sox games. I used to live 3 blocks away.

If your seats are in the bleachers you can access and walk around the rest of the park, especially the grandstand sections. Any seat holder can make use of the standing room sections. Ushers may ask to see your tickets if you waltz into the loge seats or better.

I think the RF box and grandstand seats are the worst in Fenway. They look straight at the Green Monster—that’s right, left field! If anyone stands up down the 1B line you can’t see home plate. The bleachers are better than the right field sections—they at least offer a good angle—but infield grandstands are better yet. Many of the bleacher seats can’t see the jumbo-tron. The RF roof seats are nice, however, and have a dedicated beer section.

The bleachers can be rowdy, it depends on the game and the day. Weekend and Friday games are decidedly more rowdy than the weeknight games. Expect foul language and loudmouths, but people won’t hassle you unless you’re looking for trouble.

+1

The bleachers are fine. The RF seats are awful.

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

I'd be going on the Saturday of the Braves-Red Sox series

Which I wouldn’t expect to get too rowdy..

I went to a Braves-Sox series two years ago...

I went with two (huge) Braves fan and a neutral fan…One of the games we sat behind home plate (Smoltz pitched). There was a Braves fan with a Yanks fan that sat in front of us and both were obnoxious. They kept running their mouths and cheering with my friend, but my friend noticed what was going on so he kinda kept low…long story short, a guy behind me jumped over me to the obnoxious Braves and Yank fans…so yeah a Braves-Sox series can get rowdy if the right people are around you…

Thanks for the insight

the infield grandstands are a little to expensive for my budget for this trip, but I would possibly sit in the bleachers. The only thing keeping me back from that would be not having access to the rest of the park, which I guess you can do.

haha and I’m sure that I won’t be looking for trouble. If I wore my Cubs cap, I’d probably get the sympathy treatment..

Indeed.

No trouble for Cubs fans. I think the bleachers are great. Obviously, the closer to the field the better, but it’s a great view of the park and the game for a fraction of the price. And to concur, you can access the whole park from the bleachers – I think this was done by the current regime.

yup, but would you say they are better than right field grandstands?

sure your farther from the field, but you don’t have the worry of a pole sticking in your face and you have a better overall view of the field

Absolutely.

Avoid the RF grandstands. I meant “closer to the field in the bleachers.”

oh ok, well thank you then

you’ve been a real help. Surprised bleacher ticekts go less for grandstand, especially on stubhub

If you’re getting bleacher seats, the best ones are seven to ten rows up. A little elevation lets you see over the bullpen without getting too far away from the action.

Anywhere in the bleachers proper is OK. The upper bleachers seem far away, which is not surprising considering the $12 face value. Standing room costs more at $20.

There’s really nothing wrong with the bleachers.

good, cause it just depends on the team

Yankee bleachers are rough from what I have heard, and Wrigley bleachers can go either way

Seriously unless you wear a Yankees hat no one will bother you. Also if you wear a Yankees hat and aren’t a complete jerk no one will bother you.
