Brad Wilkerson gets plunked by Jon Lester
I don't know why, but I find this video absolutely hilarious:
Lester: "That's for not being Mark Kotsay!"
I like how Wilkerson kind of walks around and then decides to leave the cage. It's like he was actually contemplating charging the mound. Now THAT would have been hilarious.

I have a funny feeling that Brad Wilkerson is going to have a year like David Ortiz in 2003.

Well, David was released by the Twins as not being good. And Pena was never given a chance until he went to Tampa, and look what he did. And all three have similar stats in the beginning of their careers, with Wilkerson’s being a bit better.

I don't see the similarities
Ortiz was a good player with the Twins, but never given at bats. When he got to the Sox, at age 26, he got AB’s and broke out. Wilkerson was a very good player early, got hurt, then was terrible. So Ortiz had a constantly improving game, while Wilkerson has fallen off a cliff. I don’t really see any similarities. Oh, and Brad Wilkerson turns 32 this year. Break out seasons for guys that age is rare. I expect very little of Wilkerson this year and would prefer one of Carter or Bailey on the big club.

Actually
I came on to post…if given a chance, I have a feeling he is going to have a break year.
On a side note…Wilkerson, take it like a MAN…get up there and bat again…I would (not)!!!

I wonder
if Lester apologized? Wonder how that conversation would have gone?
“Sorry, Man”
“So you don’t want me here either? Why the hell did I sign with the Sox? Should have gone to the Yanks to compete for CF there”
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
