Why not bring Russell Branyan to Fenway?????
Russell hit 31 home runs for the Seattle Mariners last year in a tough-home run hitter stadium......He's a free agent and hit around .250 last year, but is a decent first baseman and a truly professional hitter. He would bring a lot of punch from the bench and could allow Youck to play third base for Lowell when needed......He has a lot of pop and would love playing at Fenway. I bet he's reasonable and would be a great addition.....just my thoughts!!

Just took a look and he plays ‘eh’ to below average defense across the board. His OBP of the last couple of years isn’t really representative of his career numbers. He’s 34 years old. Those are my personal reasons why I’m not all that interested in him.

the only reason to bring Branyan aboard...
He is friends with his fellow Georgian, JD Drew..
It is better to get Miggy, or have V-Mart play first/catcher/DH and kidnapped Mauer after the 2010 season.
(disclaimer: I am leery of any Miggy (Miguel Cabrera) trade)
Let's kidnap Mauer NOW!!!!

What will be his role on the sox next year?
probably trade bait
teams always want major league ready talent in return for a big name. Odds are we’ll be looking at someone either this offseason or at the trade deadline. kotchman and lowrie might be really valuable to some team.

I really can't see Lowrie getting traded
because he’s at his lowest value possible right now, plus he provides the sox with a great, extremely cheap backup IF who can field a variety of positions.
he's valuable to us
just like he would be to another team. like i said, the fact that he’s major league ready makes him valuable in a trade. youre right though, more likely he’d be dealt at the deadline after a few months of playing.
