Who Got Tickets?
It's the most terrible time of the year, Virtual Waiting Room Day!
I'm sitting on 8 tix from my first pass through the VWR: 2 upper bleachers for 4.16.09 vs. the Rays, 2 upper bleachers for 4.23.09 vs. the Orioles I think, and 4 GS 16 aisles for the 4.18.09 Rays Sunday game. Which will hopefully not be at night.
I've already been kicked out for daring to click the "click HERE to return to the schedule", which promptly deposited me back into the VWR. Thanks guys.

I got
4 Infield Grandstands (First Base side) for the first game against the rangers. Cause i want to be there to give Lowell a standing ovation. And the Rangers always make a good game.
Still holding out a vague hope of getting the opening day sox pax, but I’m waiting in virtual line.
This sucks
First year I’ve really tried for tickets and I love this process. Love. Love. Love.
End sarcasm NOW.

I've been in the virtual waiting room for 2.5 hours
and I’m not giving up yet! I got something like 25 windows open in my browser and I’m gonna sit here till it says the opening day pack is sold out or i get them!
This process sucks. I also called the phone line around 80 times before I finally got throuh to get any tickets. If only they sold the sox pax on the phone…
Tickets are on sale?
Crap….I need to start paying closer attention to stuff.

UPSETTING.
I finally got through the virtual waiting room and put in for the opening day pack. All that I could get left were 2 right field standing room spots, so i snatched those up. Then for whatever reason, their site wasn’t processing my card and the order timed out. NOOOOOOOO. Back to the virtual waiting room, but with less hope. Looks like I’ll be spending way too much money on craigslist to get to opening day this year.
I never use the VWR on opening day.
First off, I just don’t know my schedule well enough.
Second off, I’m not looking for multiple tickets because I’m, sadly enough, largely without sports friends in MA now that everyone’s in college and I spend most of my year in Wisconsin. My father was never a baseball fan either, so woe is me.
Finally, single tickets are easy enough to get by trolling the ticket page around midnight, when they put whatever was returned back on the market. I’ve gotten a steady stream of Loge tickets at face value, even for Yankee games just by hanging around late.

Also, I'm not in town for anything like opening day, so there's no big prize to land.

I'm holding out for Monster tix.
Figured out how to get them last year, we had 3 GM SRO for the Rays in September (too bad the game was called after 6…). I REALLY WANNA SEE MANNY RAMIREZ!!!

Tickets
I got through for Sox Pax yesterday after waiting for 11 1/2 hours, but I could not get the system to accept any of my credit card numbers. I’ve done this plenty of times before, so I know how to do it, but yesterday was very frustrating. I tried 7 or 8 times with, but nothing worked.
give it up
Hello all,
I’m a bit of an old-timer, as I used to get up at 4AM and wait from 5AM to noon to buy Sox tickets. I stopped doing this over 10 years ago when all I could get for my efforts were crappy seats to crappy games.
My advice is to save your time and money and keep an eye on ebay and craigslist to find fans unloading tickets. you may even want to use an agency for a couple of good seats for a game you really want to see and just invest the $$ in less games.
Go Sox.
that's usually what I do
But I got some good tickets to a good game, so I like having a few tickets assured beforehand.
Just takes a bit of effort
Last year I ended up with well over a hundred tickets from the web. This year I scaled back greatly, and it was more difficult, but still doable.
$12 tickets are damn nice.
