Over the Monster Top 20 Prospects Voting #5: Reddick Rakes
That one was over the day it was posted. Reddick had a 10-vote lead before the night was out, and never looked back. Though he didn't post good numbers after leaving AA, making the jump to the majors if only for a short stint was enough for you readers to jump on his bandwagon. In his short stint, he showed Sox fans some of his power, with 6 of his 10 hits going for extra bases. The on-base ability hasn't appeared at higher levels yet, but that follows Reddick's typical trend of struggling after a promotion until the start of the next season.
So who's next, dear Over the Monster readers? Writeups can be found here. Vote away.

so far the voters
are just mindlessly looking at soxprospects.
I admit it
This is to me where it drops off. I voted Tazawa but I would rather have voted Exposito or Lin but I thought they wouldn’t get enough votes yet.
Was I wrong?
eh, maybe
you should vote for who you think is best, but i wouldn’t get caught up in a moral crisis over this.
Actually, they voted Westmoreland in at #2 before SoxProspects switched.
Well, it switched halfway through the week, but by that point he was by far in the lead after nearly tying Casey Kelly.
Before that, Westmoreland was #4 on SoxProspects.
Also, The Kalish race was remarkably close between 4 guys, so again.

Came down to me between Iglesias and Rizzo
Probably should give Lars a bit of a break but I’m putting him after the above two. Kinda interesting that there isn’t a pitcher on my list after Kelly until #8

I have a very similar view.
I went Rizzo this time, and it will be Iglesias or Lars next time…..

I'll be honest.
I don’t know nearly enough about our prospects, either experientially (watching the minor league games) or objectively (stats, scouting reports) to make informed decisions on these votes.

they're hard to judge
because everyone is pretty much judging by hearsay or by watching a couple of plate appearances. We all can judge the Red Sox players, because most of us are probably watching almost every game, but it’s just difficult to watch the minors players as much. I also don’t know nearly enough about the prospects except for what NESN feeds me, so I look to places like this and soxprospects for my info.
Yeah the problem is that if everyone is getting their info from one source....(soxprospects)
we get a one-sided view/vote…..I’m pretty good about varying sources with the ESPN analysts, Baseball America, etc….. also anyone big who passes through Greenville, I get a good look at….
But the New Englanders one here should be much more informed with Portland, Lowell, and Pawtucket all being right under their nose..

Rizzo Time.
