Papi wants to stay with the Sox long term, it seems, but I can't imagine the Sox investing much if anything in him past next year, even if he does have a resurgent year.

What if this coming year he puts up 35 HR with a .300 BA and .400 OBP? Are you all going to hope he is gone the year after? Who are we going to get that is better then that?

And what if Jason Varitek hits .400?

Does that mean we were wrong in our analysis calling for him to be off the team this offseason? When dealing with predictions and analysis, you work with realities and probabilities, not hyperboles and ideals.
