Red Sox Acquire Tug Hulett
Add a new first name to the pile of "Awesome First Names" in the Red Sox organization:
The Red Sox acquired Tug Hulett in a trade with the Royals on Wednesday, picking up the 26-year-old infielder for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
The Royals designated Hulett for assignment Friday, which meant he'd need to be traded, released or sent to the Minors within 10 days.
Claimed off waivers from the Mariners in February, Hulett hit .111 in 15 games for the Royals. He hit .291 with 11 homers, 53 RBIs and 27 doubles for Triple-A Omaha in 2009, his sixth season in the Minors
Good numbers from Triple-A Omaha, but he is 26 years old. I'm sure he'll get an invitation to spring training, but I'm not sure we should expect much else out of Tug McGraw. Er, Tug Hulett.

yeah
he was called on to do a lot more than we expected to have to, and he figured it out after a while, though forgot to bat. I think he performed great for what he was supposed to be, but not great enough for me to get superexcited that we have the power of Tug on our side.
SS of the future!
