"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."

Either win in 5 or lose in 3.

I don’t want any faux comeback BS now.

what was the error?

Homer: Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.

by DougieWentDeep on Oct 11, 2009 12:33 PM EDT up reply actions

Clay out of the inning.

COME ON OFFENSE!

(Anyone here, by the way? Too early/too depressing?)

am cleaning closets & stuff

but keeping an eye on the game and felt some pitches to Vlad were too high but I gues Vlad swings at it all anyway

Lets go offense!

See some of that Fenway home cooking!

by BerkshireFan on Oct 11, 2009 12:26 PM EDT reply actions

1-2-3 goes the Sox offense.

To say that’s familiar by this point would be an understatement.

by Ben Buchanan on Oct 11, 2009 12:31 PM EDT reply actions

12:07!!

definitely thought it was later than that, glad i woke up when i did

Homer: Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.

by DougieWentDeep on Oct 11, 2009 12:32 PM EDT reply actions

1-2-3

And no patience from our hitters. We gotta wear their starters out and get to the bullpen (the Angels #1 weakness).

by BerkshireFan on Oct 11, 2009 12:32 PM EDT reply actions

Tough loss last afternoon USG

But I could have told people that Tolzien really is not very good. At least the Defense looked strong.

by Gnick on Oct 11, 2009 12:32 PM EDT reply actions

He crumbled under the horseshoe pressure.

It’s incredibly depressing to hold them to 10 offensive points and lose by 18.

by Ben Buchanan on Oct 11, 2009 12:33 PM EDT up reply actions

Especially considering

the time of possession difference.

by AJBlue7 on Oct 11, 2009 12:37 PM EDT reply actions

True.

Quick defensive scores will give the ball right back to your offense. The Badger offense seemed to be able to sustain drives, had some nice 3rd down conversions, just couldn’t score.

by AJBlue7 on Oct 11, 2009 12:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Alas

Oh well, we went in expecting a loss more or less. We’re still on the way to a big bounce back season.

by Ben Buchanan on Oct 11, 2009 12:43 PM EDT up reply actions

Thats our offense for you

We can pound it with John Clay and Zach Brown but we really don’t have much flash to our O. No real big play threats (I don’t consider Nick Toon one) and very predictable play calling (the fake FG be damned).

by Gnick on Oct 11, 2009 12:43 PM EDT up reply actions

Zach Brown can pound it

But he has to cough up the ball at the end of each run, so not a huge plus.

by Ben Buchanan on Oct 11, 2009 12:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Well, I'm a

Michigan fan, so we do have an offense, but it’d be nice to have a defense that doesn’t let the opposition convert 3rd and 24s on a regular basis.

by AJBlue7 on Oct 11, 2009 12:51 PM EDT up reply actions

its alright

lets focus on the third out

by DougieWentDeep on Oct 11, 2009 12:48 PM EDT reply actions

Maybe we would score more

If we didn’t bat our second best hitter in the 8 spot.

by Gnick on Oct 11, 2009 12:49 PM EDT reply actions

i wouldn’t mind seeing him bat before ortiz and lowell

Homer: Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.

Man...

I am getting SOOO tired of these umpires. I was a bit more tolerant at Angels Stadium (home field advantage) but is just silly.

And this guys calling a ball one pitch and damn near same location next time is a strike.

On the internet I could HEAR that ball hit the bat (distinctive crack of the bat)

Bad calls all around.

by Pesky Fan on Oct 11, 2009 1:07 PM EDT up reply actions

Will we want him?

I mean he has been in decline for some time now, I think the second half of this year was more an outlier than a predictor of future production.

Another scoreless inning.

Christ they’re getting painful to watch.

by Ben Buchanan on Oct 11, 2009 12:57 PM EDT reply actions

Kazir keeps attacking with

A straightaway first pitch strike, and the Sox keep letting it go by.

We should be nailing that pitch. That first pitch to Papi was a HR waiting to happen.
