OTM Prospect Rankings: Who's No. 6?
The competition wasn't so close for No. 5, as Josh Reddick edged the competition pretty easily. The race for second was tight, though, with Michael Almanzar, Nick Hagadone and Casey Kelly all within a few votes of each other. From here on out, voting is a toss-up. It might be decided by prospects' fans in the comments. If you really support a prospect, let it known in the comments section.
Pitcher Stolmy Pimentel will be the newest addition to the prospect list.

My vote, as it has been since No. 4, is for Casey Kelly. The kids got some skilllllllz.

+1
For those children who claimed they’ve been a fan of their favorite team all their life, or even since they were about four or five years old: bullshit. There’s always that certain event or certain player that draws to the sport and draws you to a team. For me, Nomar Garciaparra was that reason. - Nick Coviello: I Try To See Rocco, But All I Think Is Nomar; 1/9/09

Hagadone by a whisker for me over Kelly. I am very high on him, and I am taking at face value reports that his recovery is going well.

Ditto
Kelly needs to choose on or the other. Anyone know how much he likes to hit?
Well, I'll appreciate for you to keep my zingers outta your mouth!

Agreed
I don’t know nothing about Kelly as a pitcher, and since that’s what he’ll likely become, I had to vote for Hagadone because at least we all know his stuff is nasty.
Mother---- him and John Wayne!

I voted for Almanzar
That type of raw ability from an 18 year-old makes the mind immediately think of other electrifying 3B’s like Wright, Cabrera, and yes, even ARod.

Wasn't Arod in the majors at 18?

He played 17 games w/ Seattle at age 18.

Yeah, Almanzar reminds me of A-Rod as well. He’s got the same frame. Let’s hope the skill replicates as well…

I've heard that he'll be switched to OF at some point
How is his defense?

I guess it’s questionable to say the least, but he’s still just so young.

Is it too early to vote for Casey Kelly? He really doesn’t have a position. It looks like he may have to spend some more time in the farm system before he shows something. Some of us voted for him because he was a first-rounder. Now, he is experimenting two different positions. What reason did we really draft him for?
by GreenGrizz on Jan 19, 2009 11:46 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
We drafted him to be OUR Rick Ankiel, obviously.
