or a different channel we get where I live. The YES channel is really good HD but I don’t like hearing the NY play-by-play guy and I hate the team…..but I have no choice when they play the Sox because they then black out the cable “Extra Innings” package I have.

The season is over. The MFY are done. The Sox are the Wild Card. Let’s just start the playoffs. In games like this one, you just hope no Sox players get hurt.

If the Sox allow like 17 runs tommorow and 14 Sunday, it might hurt us come playoff time. The best strategy, I think, is to keep everyone sharp. Rest ‘em here and there, and play the same game as it’s been played all season long. I really hope that tonight it’s the only one we’ll get smacked in this series, because of the rain, and because Pauley sucks. So I’m not really worried yet, just hope it does not happen again.

It doesn’t make sense to use the better pitchers in meaningless games.
It makes sense to make sure everybody is well-rested for the playoffs. It really doesn’t matter if they Sox get blown out Saturday and Sunday, if all the regulars are resting. That’s not going to affect how Beckett pitches in Anaheim next week.

But they should not use only the bad pitchers. The pen is (or at least was) on a roll since the ASB, why break that? Why bench Ells when he’s beginning to get out of his slump? Or Youk and Dusty, when they are on the MVP race? Let one of them at least be the DH, why not? Keep everyone sort of sharp. It’s only 2 more games, it’s not like they’ll be getting plenty of work.
That’s just how I see.
