Hear all you New Englanders and loyal Red Sox fans, the Sox just released their 2009 MLB Regular Season schedule. Not that any of you couldn't have gone right ahead and checked that yourselves, but here are some of the more interesting points:

All of the games listed below are, of course, from the perspective of the Boston Red Sox:

APRIL 2009:

2009 HOME OPENER: Mon. April 6 2009, vs. Tampa Bay Rays

1st Series: April 6-9 vs. Tampa Bay DEVIL RAYS

2nd Series: April 10-12 @ Los Angeles ANGELS

3rd Series: April 13-15 @ Oakland ATHLETICS

4th Series: April 17-20 vs. Baltimore ORIOLES

5th Series: April 21-22 vs. Minnesota TWINS

6th Series: April 24-26 vs. New York WANKEES

7th Series: April 27-29 @ Cleveland INDIANS

AS FAR AS RED SOX vs. NEW YORK WANKEES IS CONCERNED...

1st Series: April 24-26 at FENWAY PARK

2nd Series: May 4-5 at THE NEWLY CURSED WANKEE STADIUM

3rd Series: June 9-11 at FENWAY PARK

4th Series: August 6-9 at THE NEWLY CURSED STADIUM

5th Series: August 21-23 at FENWAY PARK

6th Series: September 25-27 at THE NEWLY CURSED WANKEE STADIUM

Am I Looking Forward to APRIL 27 @ NEW WANKEE STADIUM?

Answer is yes, if it means the Boston Red Sox fry the MFY in their first game against us in their beloved new ballpark. As far as all the hullabaloo surrounding their supposedly wonderful new ballpark, I say who gives a rats a**, apparently it’ll look just like the old thing. Don’t expect much…and
FYI A WARNING TO ALL SOX FANS PLANNING ON TRAVELING TO NEW WANKEE STADIUM in ‘09: During the seventh inning stretch, when they’re playing the national anthem, be sure to find yourself standing right in front of your seat no matter what, hand over heart, even if it means prospective wetting problems, just in case the NYPD or whoever is in charge of security at that shitty ballpark doesn’t through you out for not properly honoring the National Anthem. Hey, who said this was a democracy? Well, not in Yankee Stadium it ’ain’t, get with it!

Apropos National Anthem and that kind of stuff,

I wonder if it’s legal to burn a New York Wankees flag at Wankee Stadium? Do they simply ban you for life, or chop your hands off and tattoo the Wankee logo on your chest? personally I’d tell ’em to tattoo it on my, dare I say it to the moral majority American public?—balls. But the again my future kids might become Yankee affiliated if I did that…not worth the risk.

Cleveland (first column) or the MFY (second column)?

Remember when we were kids and we mixed sodas together and called them "suicides"? It was OK though, because Dr. Pepper was always there.

I Just Like Sparking Conflict For No Reason

err, no you haven’t offended me in anyway, but I decided to do the “mass media” thing and introduce controversy and dissent for no apparent reason. Who will win the the battle for the soul of OvertheMonster? (let’s overlook the fact that you currently have several thousand more comments than I do, but according to my calculations I’ll have caught up by the time the Wankees win their next world series…uhm, let’s say in about 86 years? :D)
