Giles won't be a Red Sox
Brian Giles won't be a Red Sox this season ... or, probably, ever:
Giles exercised his no-trade clause earlier this afternoon, nixing the waiver claim the Red Sox had made on the Padres’ 37-year-old left-handed hitting outfielder, according to a baseball source.
The primary factor was family reasons, as Giles wants to remain close to his children, who live in San Diego.

I don't think I want someone
who wouldn’t sacrifice time with his family to help a team he’s never played on win a ring. Brian Giles needs to get his priorities straight. [/sarcasm]
