"Never Thought I'd Walk a Jockey"

This is just for laughs and to give props to Pedroia "tha Destroya" for going 4 for 4 two games in a row.   This quote from an article for AP on th game says everything you need to know:

Star-divide

"Pedroia went 4-for-4, scored three times, swiped two bases and walked in Boston’s 8-0 win Friday night. He had a double and three singles again Saturday.

Guillen had seen enough by the time Pedroia came up in the eighth with David Ortiz on third and two outs. He decided to walk him intentionally and the crowd chanted, "MVP, MVP" as the 5-foot-7 Pedroia trotted to first base.

"I never thought I would walk a jockey," Guillen said. "I get opportunities to walk him to face Big Papi, I will do it." "

Gotta love Guillen, the man is just hilarious.  I move that we now refer to Pedroia simply as "Jockey"...just TOO funny.

Full Ozzie quote
“I must be the worst manager ever in the history of baseball right now, walking a guy that just came from being on top of Big Brown to beat the White Sox,” Guillen said. “Right now, he’s on a roll. I get opportunities to walk him to face Big Papi, I will do it, whoever hits in front of him. This guy right now is on fire. No matter what you throw there, he’s going to get it.”

It is amazing...

…that the team keeps on rolling despite all the serious injuries and the loss of Manny. I you looked at that injury list and I told you back in April that Manny would be playing for LA soon after the all-star break and all those players would be injured you’d have thought we were recreate the 2005 season.

You can take the boy outta Boston, but you can't take the Boston outta the boy.

Agreed.

The rolling Sox gather no moss. They’re weathering the injuries pretty well. I think you mean 2006 – we made the playoffs in 2005, thanks to a crushing offense, but lost because of terrible pitching.

Sorry

Yes,,,2006. It goes all dark and cold when I try to think about it.
