Beckett scratched from tomorrow's start

According to Boston.com, Josh Beckett has been scratched from his start scheduled for Friday, August 29th because of the tingling that he felt in his fingers and hand that prevented from pitching on his scheduled start on Tuesday, August 26th. Beckett is  also going to Alabama to go see Dr. James Andrews. This is not good AT ALL for the Sox. Unfortunately, it looks like we're going to be seeing David Pauley in the rotation. Daisuke has been moved up to pitch tomorrow, and Pauley will be pitching Saturday. I've got to say, I'm pretty worried.

Very bad news

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Anybody else seriously hoping that all Beckett needs is some special pillow for a sleeping condition or something?

ANYTHING not involving a knife…

Don't question my choice of teams, or I will have to go all troll on you.

Yikes

There is quite a bit of buzz over this one on the net. Some guys are saying that you rarely go to Andrews and not require surgery…that’d be a huge loss.
With Buch being ineffective, who becomes the 3rd playoff starter after Lester and
Dice-K? Do you trust Wake? Byrd? or even Masterson?

I wouldn't really be worried about the playoffs right now

With a rotation of Lester, Dice-K, Wake, Byrd, and (enter crappy pitcher here), it’s gonna be a tough battle to get a playoff spot, though we do have a pretty nice September schedule. Let’s wait until the playoffs to worry about what our playoff starters will be. The strange thing about this year is that it has been eerily similar to 2006, with one exception: the Sox have depth this year. When Lugo got hurt, Lowrie came in and has been awesome. Lowell got hurt, and Sean Casey (and Alex Cora to some degree) have picked up the slack. J.D. Drew hurt his back, in comes Coco, who’s on some sort of hot streak, to save the day. I’m hopeful that another valuable player will step in if (more like when) Beckett goes on the DL. Maybe Bowden? Anyone but Pauley.

I'm trying

to remain eternally positive and hopefully just will us to 94-95 wins, which should do it. Let’s wait and see what Andrews has to say. Maybe it’ll be a rest 2 weeks, then you’ll be ready to go type of thing…hopefully. Lugo getting hurt has been a gift from the heavens. Drew almost seemed inevitable after his iron horse impersonation last year. Lowell is a concern. He’s not a young man. And as an older guy who’s pretty fit, I can tell you for sure then when you get injured in your 30’s it takes twice as long to heal as it does when you are in your mid 20’s.

Awful news

Lots of injuries this year, man…

It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.
