Im starting to think when it comes to dice-k they should throw conventional wisdom aside and let him throw 130-150 pitches a game. They say he did it all the time in japan, and i feel like the pressure of the pitch count really gets to him.

by spinz on Aug 19, 2008 7:55 PM EDT reply actions

I'm not sure

He looked tired at the end of last season. This year he looke better, in part because he has thrown a lot less.

by Drugs Delaney on Aug 19, 2008 7:56 PM EDT up reply actions

but i feel like iv seen him stunned a few times this year to be coming out of games with a lead because his pitch count hit 100. And since hes done more and more nibbling, trying to induce quick outs, leading to longer pitch counts, and more walks.

We just have to win our games

If the Rays stay hot, we won’t catch ’em.

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

And I loved it when they miss the bunt, or anything like that. :)

My depth chart

3B: Youk, Lowrie, Cora, Bailey (?)
SS: Lowrie, Cora
2B: Cora, Lowrie
1B: Youk, Bailey, Cora, Cash

According to Baseball Reference

Cora has logged 3 career innings at 1B and 76 at 3B.
