While you guys and gals watch The Byrd Man for his first outing in a Sox uniform, I get to drive four hours to Bristol, Conn., to cover an American Legion baseball game. Ain't that just dandy?

rain! rain!

am i wimpy to want to put off facing halladay? Better yet, let them play 3 innings and then postpone the thing.

I just got home, turned on the game

and saw “rain delay.”" I had the same reaction: I don’t want to face Halladay.

I smell rainout (I hope I'm wrong because I hate doubleheaders)

It’s not raining in Texas, though. Go Rangers!

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Doubleheader September 13th.

That sucks.

What sucks even more is that there’s thunderstorms predicted for tomorrow night as well.

wow id think theyd at least move up the start time for tomorrow. If tomorrow gets cancelled as well itl lead to some really hectic scheduling.

In other news…yankees are currently behind KC. I think if they lose this series im about ready to start calling them dead.

Alex Gordon seems to hit a double every game I watch

I’m telling ya, that kid is going to be better than Longoria.

It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

Just have to agree to disagree about this, MGBB.

Yeah, I understand

Other than some crazy Royals fan, I think I’m alone on this Gordon/Longoria thing. I think that we can agree that they would both be good replacements for Mikey when he’s no longer play baseball with us. :)

Bad news - Good news

Doubleheaders are bad news: tough on the staff and over 90 percent of the time in recent years, the two teams split, for some odd reason. So, if you’re hoping for a sweep, it’s unlikely, although the Sox did it once this year. Nevertheless, the DH prospect is not good for the Sox, especially when our competition (for the division title/wild card opponents) doesn’t have to do this.

Other bad news: Rays win
GOOD NEWS – Yanks lose at home to lowly Royals. That makes my day!!

According to the Globe, both starters have been pushed back a day. I don’t really like this move, since we could start Beckett on normal rest against Halladay and just skip Byrd.

Tonight’s forecast doesn’t predict as much rain – there may be a stray thunderstorm in the evening, but hopefully we can get the game in.
