GT: Rangers @ Red Sox
Texas Rangers at Boston Red Sox, Aug 12, 2008 7:05 PM EDT
Charlie Zink makes his Major League debut with the Boston Red Sox tonight. My prediction: the knuckleballer will either kick ass or really stink. That's usually what happens with knuckleballers.

gotta go on gameday to get the play by play…
"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."
( Joe Girardi on pitching to Manny Ramirez with first base open)
We may need all those runs
Is a 10-run lead safe?
I was just thinking...
This is going to be one of those stressful 13-9 games where we hang on in the end.
Evening All
Go Sox!!

I want to say Hendrickson (when he was with the Rays)
At one point only lasted 2/3 of an inning against us while giving up a large number of runs.

I don't think the Sox would have called him up
If they didn’t think he was fit to start.
I'm not trying to say he's been good or anything.
Just saying Zink had a good bit stacked against him tonight.

"Are you a real doctor, or a doctor like Dr. Pepper is a doctor?"
If we blow a 12-2 lead at home
this would be the low point of this season and a real killer.
OMFG.
What a hard decision for the official scorers.
Don’t know if it’s still raining up there, but if the game is called, who in the F would you give the win to? ...no one?
"Are you a real doctor, or a doctor like Dr. Pepper is a doctor?"
Wouldn't it default to Javy?
Since Zink didn’t last 5?
I suppose.
Supposed to go to the pitcher that in the scorer’s opinion throws the best after the starter who was pulled before 5. I just think “no one” is an acceptable answer for me.
"Are you a real doctor, or a doctor like Dr. Pepper is a doctor?"
I asked earlier if a 10-run lead was safe
I guess not.
At least we won’t see Hansen. That’s the good news, other than we still lead by two.
I can't believe I was wrong.
I said a 13-9 nightmare, its even worse. 12-10 with 4 to go, this is going to kill me.
too tough to really tell
but we HAVE to score this inning and get some momentum back!
No doubt about that one

The Red Sox are the best team in the league in my opinion. The Angels are overrated, their expected win/loss is 66-52 while their record is 75-43 but they are in the easiest divison. Red Sox are the most well-rounded team
As for the Rangers, im really excited about their future with all of these young arms in the farm system and a lot of them are from the Douchebag deal(Teixeira).
but look at all of our pitching injuries….i think its 10. list of injuries Mathis and McCarthy are also on rehab assignments
Just Wondering. Would yall do Bucholz for Chris Davis?
Feliz and Hurley. The 1-2 punch of the future
Chris Davis will be a great player
And I’d love to have him. But I wouldn’t trade Buch for pretty much anybody not named Tim Lincecum or Felix Hernandez. Buch has ace stuff, and he’ll most likely have a great career in Boston. The idea of having Bowden, Buch and Lester in a couple of years on the rotation is awesome.
What about Salty? I heard a lot of rumors about the Sox wanting him, what do you think it would take us to get him? 2-3 MLB ready pitchers and maybe also a batter? How good does he look?
It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

I really hope we get rid of Salty
we already have Teagarden, MAX Ramirez, and Laird.
Salty looks like he has potential but he has really done nothing to prove his a future slugging catcher. His defense needs some work but he has a good arm and as far as offense goes, he is very dicisplined but seems a little behind on fastballs but he is onle 22.
I’d say for Salty, 2 ML-ready pitchers and a third base prospect
Feliz and Hurley. The 1-2 punch of the future
That seems fair
I heard a lot about Salty being turned into a first baseman, but I somehow feel he may stick at catcher (like Lowrie at SS, I always believe in the players sticking at their original position). And the Sox wanted him since he was in Atlanta, so if he turns out to be half the player McCann is, trading for him would be worthy.

yeah he'll prbobab;y stick at catcher
because he doesn’t want to be playing first base.
would you give up bowden in that deal
Feliz and Hurley. The 1-2 punch of the future
I'd give up Masterson
We’re all sort of gay for Bowden. Masterson is another big time prospect, but if any of them needs to go, then I’d say Masterson. I think Masterson, Bard and Yamaico Navarro should do it. Navarro is a SS actually, with a great bat and good defense. Bard will be a top setup man, and Masterson could be a very solid #3 starter. Salty stock is not crazy high because you guys have 3 great catching prospects, and all these 3 guys are high prospects on the organization.
I think the Sox have only 2 guys that are untouchables in the minors right now (not counting Clay, of course): Lars Anderson and Michael Bowden.

I was kidding, this one is all on Tito
He left Zink in for too long, left Aar in there also for too long, and left MDC out there for too long. And used Javi against 2-3 dudes. That’s Terry Being Ozzie right there.

Momentum is very tough to maintain when
