Otherwise, force Timlin to retire or DFA him or something like that. I know the FO has too much respect for Timlin, and I do too. But we need better arms coming from the pen.

He’s never going to be the 8th inning guy again, or maybe even first-choice in the 7th. But nothing about today’s outing was cringeworthy at all. Let’s hope he can build on it.

If Timlin start throwing the good stuff again, it could buy us some time with the young relievers (Masterson, Hansen, Bard, and the others), which would be big.

I thought Lopez did well
He was just left in for far too long. I mean 37 pitches is alot for him. He started out very strong and toward the end he was leaving pitches up in the zone.

Game
First of all, the pen was shaky but didn’t allow a run, which is great. I think Oki is coming back to his old form, so things are looking better yet again in the pen.
I’d like to see more of Aar. It seems that he only pitches in games I’m not watching. Only because I like saying ‘Aar’, I guess.

The game actually started very ugly
The Sox weren’t hit Hernandez well enough, and he sucks. Also, Beckett didn’t have one of his best starts. It only got really beautiful when their bullpen came into the game. :)
