A win would be nice. Also. I think when Papi comes back, Drew should = leadoff. Ells has been a-strugglin.

C'mon Tek

Just give me a walk or two. That’s all. Just get on base a couple times.

Drew leadoff

I’m all in for it, or at the very least he should hit 2nd. He’s too good right now to bat low in the order.

It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

If we didn't have Youk

I’d be okay with Morneau in our team. I think that even with that MVP award, he’s somewhat underrated.

And while you're at it

You can put Jose Reyes at short, and Josh Hamilton in LF.

Josh Hamilton in LF

Man, Hamilton and Drew on the same team is too great to even imagine.

I'm not sure I wouldn't rather have Casey DH right now

Crazy idea

Should we see what the Royals might want for Miguel Olivo?

He’s been throwing out runners like crazy, hitting relatively well, and has a reasonable club option for next season.

He doesn’t block pitches well, if THT’s WP+PB/G data can be trusted as a barometer.

Does anyone think Varitek could (re)learn to catch Wake? Maybe he catches Wake and Daisuke (another one with a propensity to uncork some wild ones) and Olivo catches Becks, Lester, and Buch? Is this too strange an idea?

"Are you a real doctor, or a doctor like Dr. Pepper is a doctor?"

by Allen Chace on Jul 7, 2008 7:37 PM EDT   0 recs

Any offensive upgrade at catcher would be great ...

as long as it isn’t too expensive.

As for Wake, I’m not sure.

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

by Drugs Delaney on Jul 7, 2008 7:40 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

That's why Olivo would be the target.

He’s no spring chicken, and hasn’t been phenomenal, but has been better than both of our catching options at the plate. Doesn’t seem like he should cost anything terribly significant.

KC's GM is not fool

Moore will still want something decent.

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

by Drugs Delaney on Jul 7, 2008 7:42 PM EDT to parent up   0 recs

Sure.

But Bowden and Buch etc. have been thrown around for all the Texas kids. This guy is less club/cost-controlled and not as highly-regarded. But still performing better than our craptastica situation. I feel like I’m being most unfair to Kevin Cash here.

I’m not saying he’d be gotten for “nothing” but it wouldn’t be someone we’d almost definitely regret a few years down the line.

That third strike against Rivera was out of the zone

All three were good pitches.

But ESPN’s k-zone showed they were right on the edge of the zone, with two that could’ve been called outside the zone.

All of that’s really to Mo’s credit.
