Almost hit him. Evokes memories of last season, with Joba’s headhunting escapades with Youk that got him suspended. If you’re gonna throw 97 mph, it better be over the plate.

By the way, Casey has to be among the top three slowest players in the league, right next to Hafner and the Big Hurt. Not a knock against him – he is batting .356 after all – but just pointing it out.

I see him as a major league bullpen guy. His starts and stuff remind me of Papelbon’s, although Pap’s fastball has better movement. But I don’t think Joba is going to be a guy that pitches 7+ innings with any regularity for the NYY.
