MFYs acquire I-Rod for Farnsworth

MLBTR

Two sentences? Okay.

Addition by addition.

Addition by subtraction.

I'd trust Farnsworth less than Craig Hansen in close situations if he were in the Sox bullpen.

Nah.

But Cora for Porcello seems reasonable. :)

I-Rod

Didn’t the MFY already have a good fielding, no hitting catcher?

It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

The catcher formerly known as Pudge is having a decent year.

I wish we had a catcher that hit .295 AVG/.338 OBP/ .417 SLG. I don’t think he is as good as Molina defensively. Nor do I think he handles pitchers as well.

It’s an interesting move. We’ll see what happens ….

I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

I'm stunned.

Farnsworth is abysmal. They’ve absolutely fleeced the Tigers. I don’t know the Tigers farm system, but I would assume they have someone waiting in the wings to catch.

I think they knew exactly what they were doing

They get needed pitching, dump salary, and make Brandon Inge the happiest reluctant catcher alive in one move.

Just another old veteran

added to the yanks.

Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.

Brandon Inge is going to catch

This makes minimal sense to both teams, but Detroit may be better off long term.
I think it is time the Redsox start seriously talking to Texas and St. Louis for their Catching prospects

salary dump

Times like this I wish Bowie Kuhn were around to veto trades.

My fantasy league rates Pudge as the 9th most productive catcher in the majors this season. There are not many catchers hitting well at all – after McCann, Martin, and Mauer there really isn’t much.

This is totally a coup for the Yankees. They have picked up a first-ballot Hall of Famer for a middle reliever.
