DO RED SOX NEED HELP BEFORE TRADING DEADLINE?
<!-- TOKEN_1216591538330_TOKEN --><!-- TOKEN_1216592754915_TOKEN -->David Ortiz has homered in his 3rd straight game with Pawtucket, thats great news for Red Sox Nation but the Red Sox are talking trading for another hitter just in case, what do you think? I think we have enough bats in our lineup to get us in the post season w/o Papi, having Papi back would definetly make us stronger but what i truly believe is that we need to trade for another solid starting pitcher to get us through the 1st half and going into playoffs. Schilling probably not coming back anymore so we need a replacement, we cant trust masterson, bucholz, or even lester yet, they are too young to step up in the playoffs, they might get us in the playoffs but we need that 4 solid punch hit. What if beckett or matsuzaka went down towards the end of the year, we need that insurance and Eric Bedard would be that solid fit, dont you think? I know mariners are looking to rebuild and want to get rid of bedard why not give it a shot. He's on the DL right now but when he comes back he would really help out especially with all that success at fenway park. <!-- TOKEN_1216592677138_TOKEN -->Hey we are a championship team and we should do whatever possible to keep it that way not wait, hope, and see.
GO RED SOX!!!!!!

Dude
By typing in all bold and putting the title in all caps, you hurt people’s eyes, and make them less likely to read what you want to say.
If someone came up to you in the street, reeking of alcohol, stuck his nose in your face, and started screaming about how the Sox should get Erik Bedard, would you listen to him? What you just typed is the online equivalent of that scenario.

Typing in all caps on the internet
Is pretty generally believed to be the equivalent of yelling, which can easily be seen as impolite. I’d prefer if people really objected to the method of you expressing your opinions on this subject, that they would just ignore it. I’ve been repulsed enough by how people in some forums latch onto spelling and grammatical errors as the only way to impugn the opinion of the writers. There are young fans who aren’t 100% sure of themselves with the English language, similarly for fans whose native language is not English, older fans who aren’t entirely comfortable writing in this way, etc. Takes all kinds.
On the other hand, your response below this one doesn’t exactly inspire me to perceive you as an individual with respect for those who are regular contributors to this community.

I'm not terribly worried about your typing.
It’s the tone of about every other one of your posts or topic responses that has bugged me a bit.

agree
i agree the HIV thing might of been a little out of hand, but the Bedard thing was just me expressing my opinion didnt mean any negative tone in any way. It might of been negative to you and 2 other people, but like i said didnt mean to offend any1 in anyway if i did

I don't have a problem with the Bedard idea
Other than that he’s injured and the M’s will want too much. The HIV thing was completely uncalled for and in bad taste. I appreciate that you didn’t mean to offend.

Bedard
i know he’s on the DL but he’ll get better and no better place than boston. I think a Colon, Masterson, and few other prospects would do the deal.

Free country doesn't mean you can do whatever you want
Read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights before claiming you can do whatever you want. You have freedom only to the point of encroaching on other people’s freedom.

Caps
i wasnt trying to yell by putting on the caps just trying to let my post stand out, that’s what caps is used for and is used to express yelling in the form of typing in caps as well, but why would you think i would be yelling about Bedard?? That would be insane!!
once again i try not to use caps as much but cant promise you that, no offense

Well, you haven't brought anything positive to the blog, have you?
Your first fanpost was offensive in the extreme, and this one is merely uninformed and difficult to read.

It's actually, believe it or not, just a tiny bit important if I'm one of the ones doing the b'ing.
And brit has been a well-respected and respectful member of this community for a LONG time. I’d suggest you keep that all in mind.

I'd be okay with Street
He blew another save these days, so his value isn’t too high. He would be great as a setup guy.
It's the same old story. Boy finds girl, boy loses girl, girl finds boy, boy forgets girl, boy remembers girl, girls dies in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

Bedard
I really wouldn’t want to take a risk on a guy who is as much of an injury risk as Bedard is.
by Gnick on Jul 21, 2008 1:10 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Bedard
i would agree on that also, but we need some1, Bedard still young and has done well in Boston, plus we have the best doctors, therapists here in Boston

Update
Can we update our current home page reliever poll to include “bullpen sucking”?

Can't trust Lester?
He might have only had the 1 start last postseason, but that was one hell of an outing! And to date this season, he’s been one of the more dependable starters in the rotation. I feel more comfortable seeing Lester on the mound recently than Daisuke!
by A2004LoveAffair on Jul 22, 2008 1:08 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Confused
At first I was confused by A2004LoveAffairs post because I was thinking “Who doesn’t trust Lester yet?” He has 2 CG this year and one being a no hitter. He has been nothing but a rock.
Then I realized there was somewhere in that bold blur on top of this page a smudge that looked like “Lester”. I managed to decipher the, what seemed like, hieroglyphics by taking my glasses off and squinting really hard. It said he didn’t trust Lester yet. I then proceeded to put my glasses back on and decided it wasn’t worth translating the rest.

Truly
fortune does not favor the bold.
Also, when you were squinting, did you see a secret animal shape?

lester
i trust matsuzaka over lester any day, especially in playoffs. Who would you trust in a game 7 A.L. championship series Lester or Schilling Lester or Matsuzaka, i would choose schilling and matsuzaka, they have more experience, you are getting to hyped over the success Lester has been having this year, and this is the only year he has had success in a red sox uniform.
by BostonNation on Jul 25, 2008 1:49 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
lester
what i meant you can trust lester, but you never know with these young kids, what i really meant was i rather trust schilling going into the playoffs, and we need another pitcher, maybe like a bedard or some 1 else. Matsuzaka hasnt been all 2 good as well despite his 11-1 record. What if matsuzaka or beckett went down with an injury we need another pitcher to step up, i rather trade for some1 with better potential, cause i sure dont trust masterson or bucholz towards the end of the year
by BostonNation on Jul 24, 2008 9:54 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I like Bedard and always have
but, in the last month or two, what we’ve been lacking, it seems, is another right-handed bat from the outfield. Manny’s knee worries me and there have been times Francona has had almost no bench to go to, having to use Moss and Casey even against lefties. Both our catchers can’t ht, nor can our shortstop Lugo – so another bat wouldn’t hurt, at least to PH here and there when really needed. Our relievers, with the exception of Papelbon, haven’t been too inspiring, either, but Masterson should help. I agree Bucholz is no one to count on, but IF we make the playoffs, he most likely wouldn’t be used.

Manny's knee
his knee is fine, this is just another episode of manny being manny like it is every year. MRI came up good and manny just messing around like he does every year, by the time this blows over manny will be a red sox for another year or 2, red sox cant afford to trade him or put him up for free agency
