Woo Hoo!!
"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."
( Joe Girardi on pitching to Manny Ramirez with first base open)
Gotta love him
This showed me I must not be hard on any Sox player. Even when Lugo GIDP for the 3rd time in a game, have a little faith. Beautiful night, man, really beautiful.
Stupid question: What will be the top moment of the year on the recap: Lester no-hitter, or Manny hitting a grand slam against the Yankees for Nº 500? :)
Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone
Ells stealing 2nd, 3rd, and home on consecutive pitches.

And we should hope
that it doesn’t take until the next MFY series for Manny to hit #500.

You're right
It’ll take quite some time for the next series against the Yankees. Well, he can do it tomorrow, can’t he? :)
Then Lugo hits his only HR for the season also tomorrow, and we’ll have quite a few moments to remember against the Royals.

Well...
I’d exclude F’Lugo from that comment – but exactly g-damn right…
I was thinking when I left work @ the end of the third “I think Lester will shape-up to be a decent back-of-the-rotation guy for a World Champion club.” I should say so.
And wait ‘til Masterson no-hits them again tomorrow!!!

Great job by Lester
Nice to see him get a no hitter after what he’s been through. Keep up the great work over here.
Green Bandwagon: Celtics '08 or bust. Are you on the bandwagon?
Also
I’m very happy to note that Jason Varitek is the only major league catcher to catch four no hitters. More of a testament to ‘Tek’s brains is the fact that he probably would have caught five, but for the fact that Schilling shook him off in the ninth against Oakland.
I can’t think of a better monument to a man whose not-inconsiderable measurable contributions are dwarfed by his heart, guts and brains.
Three cheers for The Captain…

It is pure fantasy following this team at the moment.
What a golden age.
Bottom 9th B:1 S:0 O:0 With Bill Mueller batting, Dave Roberts steals (1) 2nd base.
