"You know," Girardi said, shrugging his shoulders, "it didn't work."

I like the new camera angle on NESN
The CF angle makes it easier tell balls and strikes, and you can really catch how well the pitches move.
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Good evening
It’ll be the first time in quite a while that I’ll take a look at Hochevar. His ERA is close to Lester’s, which is actually quite good by our non-Dice-K standards.
Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone
Crap
Throwing error by Lester. Why try to pick Olivo off with 2 out?
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.
He wasn't really trying to pick off a team's backup catcher, was he?

You gotta love Lester
After looking really bad earlier this season, he’s been looking really great lately. If only Buch would learn something other than the 4 pitch BB from him…
Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you'll never walk alone You'll never walk alone
Agreed
If Colon sticks, Buchholz will spend a lot of time in the minors. I think Buchholz is the real deal. But the Sox FO wants to cap his innings this year (and rightly so).
I gotta go 'cause I'm probably definitely gonna nod out again.

Buchholz
I also think he’s the real deal, and may be our ace before too long (by that, I mean 2-3 years) if Beckett continue to suck. He needs to get his shit straight, and spending some time in the minors may help him with that.

Not great, but okay
They’re not close-in box seats, but for the money they’re alright. They’re in the park, and they’re not in the worst sections, RF boxes 92 and 93.
Though I’d rather get lower-half bleacher seats than RF Grandstand. I loves the bleachers.
Manny ain't the only bad man.
RF box 92
I’ve been there on just my second time at Fenway. Awful spot indeed.
The best non-motherfucking-expensive place at Fenway is the Infield Grandstand. I’ve come to know quite a few people who don’t like it, but I love it.

I'm surprised they called him back up
He’s been “eh” for a couple weeks.
Manny ain't the only bad man.
True.
Though, the other options were David Pauley (who I think is basically quad-A at this point), Hansack (who’s been mostly awful), and Bowden (don’t want to rush him)
"Are you a real doctor, or a doctor like Dr. Pepper is a doctor?"
Though.
I would’ve loved to see Bowden get a shot.
"Are you a real doctor, or a doctor like Dr. Pepper is a doctor?"
Alex Cora is ready to play SS.
...that is not a question, btw.
"Are you a real doctor, or a doctor like Dr. Pepper is a doctor?"
What does Lugo present as positive if
they subsititute for him when good defense is needed. I thought that was his sole saving grace, but evidently not! Are they someday going to use him as a pitch hitter because of his past hitting prowess (RIGHT)?? So what is left?? What does he offer over Cora or many others in any aspects of the game?
Actually
Hitting was considered his strong suit. The thinking was “we can put up with 25 errors if he’s hitting .290 and stealing 45 bases…”
Didn’t quite work out as planned.
Manny ain't the only bad man.
I think some of it stems from the total dollars, as well.
This is not a $9M SS. If he were being paid, say, $5-6M a year, then keeping up his ~.350 OBP along with 30-40 SBs at a reasonable rate of success and several great plays that show off his range while still needing to be lifted for a more sure-handed defender late in close games would seem all right. I also think, if not HRs, he will start hitting more doubles. So. I dunno. .280/.345/.400 at the end of the season with 30 SBs v. 5-7 CS, it at least seems possible this season. The game-changing errors, however, will never go down smooth.
"Are you a real doctor, or a doctor like Dr. Pepper is a doctor?"
Don't forget hitting into momentum killing double plays!
Not all double plays are alike. Those that kill momentum when the game is on the line are the real team destroyers, and Lugo EXCELS, I mean absolutely 95% predictably excels at these. You can virtually leave the room and go do something else when he is up in clutch situations because you know he will either strike out looking or hit into a DP! You just know it..
So not all bad hitting stats are the same. I just wish there was some type of meaningful index tied to really important failures for the team effort because if there was, Lugo would be the league leader. I’m sorry , but he is one poor excuse for a major league player, and it is embarrassing that he is on such an otherwise great team.
