You wonder if Lester

is aware that he doesn't really get hit that hard. It's when he walks someone, and someone else, and someone else, that things start to get bad.

i went to the liquor store

and the sox had the bases loaded and had just scored 2 runs...i come back to find this? manny and big papi need to step up their game.

Lugo

Did you guys notice that Lugo was responsible for all 3 outs last inning? How crap is that to actually have a hand in making all 3 outs in your turn at bat?

by sydneysox on Apr 9, 2008 9:05 PM EDT reply actions

I missed it

How is that possible?

Manny ain't the only bad man.

Lugo

Runners on 1st and 2nd. He into a DP, runner out at 3rd and 2nd, he was left at first. Then the mothereffer got pinged trying to steal 2nd....what a nob.

Ortiz

Ortiz batting is so awful right now, never mind hitting his weight nor even my weight, he's not even hitting my wife's weight and she's only stands 5'1".

by sydneysox on Apr 9, 2008 9:12 PM EDT reply actions

Manny too

other than the triple yesterday, manny hasn't been hitting very well either. they both need to get their shit together and get on base.

Yea but

Both Ortiz and Manny will end up hitting near .300 before the season is over.

The Tigers bullpen should be considered the worst in MLB right now.

Not on this site

I was on LGT because they didn't see my point of view. I really don't want to get into it. I just want to chat about baseball.

I don't get why Oki doesn't appear

in a game we're only losing 4-2. Instead, we insert a lesser reliever, who only pads the deficit, ensuring that we can't win. And then we put in our better relievers.

I know what you are saying

but its a little early in the season to second guess all the pitching moves.

who is corey?

And why is his ERA stratospheric? And why does he keep getting the ball?

Hate to be so negative

But when is Papi going to lay down his first bunt of the season? He just needs something to get him going.

by soxaholic on Apr 9, 2008 10:23 PM EDT reply actions

LOL

I bet he would get on if he did that.

He would.

The shift is relentless so far this season. He needs to drop a bunt to the left side.

by soxaholic on Apr 9, 2008 10:24 PM EDT up reply actions

don't say that!

It would be so unnatural for him to bunt he'd probably aggravate his knee!

by RickD on Apr 9, 2008 10:26 PM EDT up reply actions

He's done it a few times before

And if I recall, it's worked out on more than one occasion.

by soxaholic on Apr 9, 2008 10:27 PM EDT up reply actions

I did not here

that Ortiz knee was bothering him but it certainly would explain why he is off to a slow start. More likely all the Sox slow starts are due the messed up schedule.

Knees

Remy noted multiple times tonite that Papi is more upright this season than he has been in the past. Perhaps his knees are preventing him from crouching comfortably?

Manny ain't the only bad man.

by tommy.otm on Apr 9, 2008 10:31 PM EDT up reply actions

i know that Papi along with Manny

went to AZ this winter to prepare for the season and I never heard about knee issues. I think he might be more upright but that could be a result of many things not just balky knees. Maybe it is more mechanical, I will have to watch him more closely and I will be able to see what is going on.

Who left with a sprained thumb?

Was it Lowell?

Yea

A sprained thumb hurts. I know because I was playing pick up hoop last week and mine is still bothering me.

Most likely

Casey is a nice backup player at this point in his career. The Sox should be fine without Lowell for a while. It wouldn't shock me if Lowell would go on the DL if this lingers for a while.

Lopez

is nothing more then a token Lefty. I don't know why he is on the club to be honest.

i take the blame

I've got Lester on my fantasy team. I used him his first start, which he lost. Then I benched him, and he pitched great. So I used him again.

Apparently I need to cut him. Then he'll be just fine.

Fantasy

Does seem to work that way sometimes. I am a pretty good fantasy player but I have had years that for what ever reason things just didn't fall my way and I had good players with good stats. It just Happens.
