Hey, The Sox are playing the Jays in Canada.

Roy "Doc" Halladay v. Jon "Four Balls" Lester! Manny "Cap'n Jack"Julio " Ramirez v. Vernon "My Name Is Vernon" Wells! Julio "GIDP" Lugo v. The Departed Ghost of Frank Thomas!

Can the Sox right the ship after the recent unpleasantness? Can Toronto vacate the AL-East Cellar? Will the soothing influence of Mikey Lowell prevail? Have the Canadians apologized for Bryan Adams yet? Have I reached the word-limit yet? Snake Plisskin?!?! I thought they killed you in Cleveland!

5 strong for Lester ...

I’d like to see him go 7. The Sox need the starters to go deep in games. The better the starters are, the better the bullpen will be.

well

we had a young guy go 7 the other night and 2 of the best relievers in the game warm. He was over 100 pitches, we were winning and he gave up a single to start the eighth…well you know the rest.
Not that I’m angry about it or anything.

Jon Lester

I was very impressed with Lester tonight. 8 innings 1 hit is unbelievable for him. The part that impressed me tonight, was his confidence on the mound. He had good stuff last night, don’t get me wrong, but I have seen him with better pitches before. Normally Lester will pitch strong till the 4th and when he walks someone he would lose control of the game. Not last night, everytime he walked someone he came right back at the next batter. All this while “4 CG” was on the mound on the other side. Tonight was the night that Lester should he is maturing on the mound.
