Focus on your mutual hate for the Yankees and poke fun at Steinbrenners annoying kid Hank. Regardless of what Rev. Halo and that crew feel, the true evil in the MLB are still the Yankees and their $200+ payroll.

I am a Sox fan and live in SoCal as well, many of my buddies out here are Dodgers and Angel fans.  Most of the time Angel fans and I got along great, then the Sox beat the Angels a couple of times in the playoffs and it all went down hill from there.

He’s a joy. He’s wonderful for baseball. Who else could get away with pimping after home runs and turning triples into singles by jogging down the first base line?

Plus, he’s a hell of a poet.

Think of all the bad things about the Yankees. Pretend the glass is half empty. Imagine, They are spending the most money in the majors, and are 4th in the AL east. Now think of Steinbrenner, how he fired Joe Torre even after stellar managing, because he didn’t win his World Series. The days are over for them.

Now pretend the glass is half full, and think about Red Sox nation, about how the Sox are leading the Yankees. The Red Sox are the future. The yankees are 20th century. Hank Steinbrenner doesn’t believe in Red Sox Nation, a group that has been acknowledged by ESPN. He’s ignorant. He says “you don’t see people walking around in Red Sox hats, ou see them in Yankee hats.” Yeah, try and say that in 20 years, Hank. I guarantee the Boston Red Sox will be the face of baseball in the 21st century.

And i’m sure the Angels will be doing just fine too, of course… sorry if I laid that on too thick.

I like how the Angels field teams with excellent pitching and aggressive base-stealing. I like Vlad. I liked OC, who was awesome for both the Sox and the Halos.

The vitriol for the Sox is perhaps understandable, but I’d prefer a respectful rivalry to the incendiary rhetoric seen on HH. The stretch of recent playoff defeats at the hands of the Sox must be disappointing. Money shouldn’t be a big factor in any hatred, though. The Sox have a rich ownership, adept at milking fans for cash, and willing to spend large sums to field a strong team.

The Angels are owned by a billionaire who could easily raise payroll further, if he wished. As it stands they’re probably in the top five or six. They have one of the top farm systems and collections of talent in the league. I have little doubt their FO could have signed A-Rod last year, or traded for Miguel Cabrera, or grabbed Santana. Instead they repeated the 06 offseason and signed another (unnecessary) CF.

If I were an Angel fan, I’d be more angry at my front office, which squandered an excellent opportunity to make an impact move last offseason, than at the Red Sox. I’d even be more angry that Reggie Willits, after posting a .391 OBP in his rookie season, is barely getting played. I’d blame the FO that doesn’t field a dominant team, not the team that beats them.
