Crisp to Oakland?

Not sure how reliable this is, because I pulled it off of mlbtraderumors.com, but apparently Crisp talks with the A's are comming around again.  This is comming from the San Francisco chronicle:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/03/14/SP8HVK2AO.DTL

Sounds a little far-fetched, but it could happen.

Re: Crisp to Oakland?
Not much info there, but Crisp would be a nice fit in Oakland. The A's are still my bet for who lands Coco.

Not sure who'd we want back. A Coco/Denorfia isn't fair straight up.

Re: Crisp to Oakland?
If we are just speculating, I would like the Sox to really check out Rich Harden and see if he is healthy.  Harden, when healthy, big "IF" I know, has electric stuff.  A healthy Rich Harden could be a very nice addition to a strong young rotation.  All this depends on if he is healthy and what the A's want included with Crisp.

Re: Crisp to Oakland?
I'm still lobbying for a Crisp-Street trade. We could use Street as that eighth inning righty guy, keep Delcarmen for mostly seventh inning work, and use Snyder/Tavarez for starts more often. I doubt it'll happen, though, since the Sox brass seem pretty focused on working MDC in the eighth.

Re: Crisp to Oakland?
Alternatively, we could use Street as the closer and move Papelbon to the starting rotation.

Re: Crisp to Oakland?
I don't think it'll happen simply because I don't think Street is on the table for Crisp. Beane will wait to move him @ the deadline to a team that could become desperate (overpay) for a reliever of his stature. (Think: Tigers, Diamondbacks w/ Lyon as the "closer", Brewers, Mets perhaps, Yankees, etc.)

Re: Crisp to Oakland?
Good point--the Yankees would be a good candidate, I guess. If Mariano Rivera's age finally catches up with him and Joba Chamberlain doesn't work out, they'll be pretty desperate.

Re: Crisp to Oakland?
Agreed, though I still think the Tigers bullpen is going to shape up so weak most of the season that if either Rodney or Zumaya is out/ineffective by the middle of July, Dombrowski will send Porcello to Oakland before Beane even dials the number.

Alternately, the D-Backs will have pieces they can afford to give up if Brandon Lyon, Tony Pena, and Chad Qualls can't figure out one amongst them to close games.

All that being said, I'd like to see it be the Yankees, because it'll mean one of those things you mentioned happening, and it'll also mean that Tabata, Austin Jackson, or one of those other possibly threatening position prospects that the Yankees have will be gone, probably along with someone else.
